Royce on SoundBetter

Written, recorded and engineered songs for over 5 years. The people I work with range from beginners who are looking to find their sound, to successful artists in the industry. I specialize in writing songs, coming up with melodies and making beats.

Yo it's Royce,

I'm a songwriter, beat-maker & artist in Miami, FL.
I've been making music since I was 16. I would listen to 'type beats' and freestyle over them. After many years of playing with many different styles, I have developed a professional and versatile sound. I feel as though I can flow with a beat in a very comfortable way. I hope I cant transform the way I feel into the sound of your track.

I can write your melodies, hooks, and bars. Of course melodies will just come from the abyss relative ease, however when it comes to bars I put a lot of thought into them so that they are clever and far from generic. The good thing is I am knowledgeable on many topics your listeners might be familiar with, my bars can revolve around that.

I record in Adobe and will make the file sound professional.
Can provide features for any of your songs.

I will provide swift results at a great standard.

Please let me know about your project so I can help you achieve an amazing sound.

Royce is really great for what I needed. His communication is so fast, helpful and clear. The guy really wants to make the best song possible and he is not "industry washed" in the sense that his music feels genuine. Royce can make excellent beats, write very witty bars, make great melodies and overall has a good ear for modern hip hop. Thanks for helping me develop my sound bro.

Interview with Royce

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I was proud when I worked with 6ix9ine, because when I was younger I would see him purely on social media. It was the first time being with someone who had that that level of success, and he is a very clever artist.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working with some Florida artists to make some melodic hits that breakthrough.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: That it is very aligned with my sense of being. There is no struggle. The effort is pleasurable and doesn't leave you drained like a 12 hour shift at Goldman Sachs.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: "Can you make a song that sounds like this?" - I'll give it my best effort

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: That I can do absolutely everything a studio team can do all-in-one. I have experience with a bit of everything but it is always better to use someone different for making your beat, mixing and mastering for example. I specialize in writing and recording the structure of your song to a good standard. Of course I can do other things too though.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: - What is the song being used for and what is your intention for it? - How many songs do you need? - What is your time frame for the project?

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Make sure to listen to my sample music and see if that style is what you like. I do have many different styles and I could only upload one, so email me for a complete pack of samples to see if any suit you.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: 5 years. I started released audios on Youtube. I got some great comments and likes, but I never felt as though being an internet character was for me so I decided ghostwriting was my best chance to make music for a living. I was approached by people on YouTube who wanted me to make them songs like mine which they could record in their own voice, but using my lyrics, flow and melodies.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Youngboy Never Broke Again. He is just a little older than me, yet he's been killing it as if he's been around for decades. He can live up to any kind of beat and his authenticity is unmatched.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Spend multiple sessions tweaking your project as you need to hear it with fresh ears each time. Make sure you go over each detail to make sure it sounds great to you, because you are your harshest critique, so chances are the world will love it.

  21. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  22. A: I'm not a mixer

  23. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  24. A: That I will communicate to the best of my ability with you about your project so I can produce something that you're really happy with.

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: Mac, my producer's briefcase of beats, microphone, AKG headphones and water for my voice.

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: It is very modern, with a mixture of melodic hooks and confident-flow verses. It is supposed to balance emotions and sometimes sufferings with a perpetual feeling of going up and success nonetheless.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: Hip Hop, Rap.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Being able to work with many different types of beats, emotions and cultures due to my personality and experience with the world. I have an ear for a good beat and this helps.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: I can either use my voice as an instrument to add the final layer to a great beat, or I can add powerful bars that are well thought out and sound hard.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: I listen to beats first for the melody and then that tune will set the tone for lyrics and general meaning of the song.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: It is quite simple actually. A 27 inch Mac, Adobe Audition, a quality microphone and some good energy.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Hotboii, Juice Wrld, Justin Bieber, Gunna, Young Thug

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: Writing lyrics and melodies for ghostwriting purposes.
