    HI
Many thanks to Mary Bragg. The information you gave me was truly exhaustive. They will be important above all for the new pieces that I will produce. I needed confirmation from a professional since I recently started to propose myself for the synchronization market. Now my problem is finding the right publisher for my work and I don't know how to proceed but I don't think this is the right place to ask in this context. Thank you so much Mary

I am extremely happy that I chose Mary Bragg to work on my project !! I could have hired individual people to turn my lyric's into a full fledged song but that is too confusing ! When I saw that Mary produces, sings and has the musicians I had to give a listen to her voice and work. When I did I was sold !! She has a breathtaking very soulful voice and her songs are masterpieces !! Google Mary Bragg and you will see/hear what I mean !! She is a professional not an amateur !!

Mary is truly a masterful artist and my superhero. She took an idea I'd been working on for literally years and helped me to transform it into the most wonderful piece of music for my wife. I do not exaggerate when I say I could not have done this without her.

If you get an opportunity to work with Mary, you should take it. You will not be disappointed.

Mary produced my song amazingly. I literally could not have imagined it better than how it turned out. The nuance, the production value, the instrumentation layers, the feeling and tone -- everything was perfect. Thanks Mary!

Mary was just a pleasure, professional, knew exactly what to deliver, sounded just great and on time. I highly recommend. She communicated in order to understand the song and my expectations and more than met them.

I can only echo all the great reviews below. Mary is a fantastic singer. She has a gorgeous voice, but more impressive to me was her ability to capture the phrasing and feel of my duet. She really nailed it! Mary was also a pleasure to deal with. She responded quickly to all communications, and was very pleasant and professional. In short, working with Mary was a great experience. If/when I have need for female vocals in the future, she will be at the top of my short list.

This is the second country song I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mary on. She sang the backing harmonies and she did a superb job! Her voice is excellent and fits the genre absolutely perfectly. I look forward to working with Mary again soon and give my highest recommendation!

Very professional and talented. My singing is very limited but Mary managed to put down what was in my head from the recording I sent through. Look forward to getting another tune together to be brought to life. Thank you.

Interview with Mary Bragg

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm currently finishing a full band demo for a client that hired me to write a song for her daughter's wedding.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: Jordan Perlson (drummer), Josh Kaler (guitarist, producer, mixer).

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: Condenser mic, acoustic guitar, synth, laptop, and Logic.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: My East Nashville studio is vibey, and efficient, using Logic Pro X, and state of the art guitars, amps, and condenser microphones.

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: Most questions are around logistics, which thankfully can be easily sorted. Which key you might like best, which lyric you like best, which tempo, which general direction I should head in re: genre / vibe. Covering these points up front make it a breeze.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: If there is one, it might be that the process is inflexible. That's the beauty of music - it can always be massaged to fit your preferences.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: What quality of my voice would you most like me to access? (Folk/Ethereal/Country/Big/Chest-Voice/Soft/Airy/Whimsical) What three recorded songs would you like for our end-product to sound like?

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Provide as much info as you can about what you're looking for, then get ready to trust the process.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: Folk, Americana, Country, Indie-Pop.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Patty Griffin, Jason Isbell, John Prine, Rufus Wainwright, John Paul White, Regina Spektor, and a whole host of musicians working in Nashville.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: Lead vocals for demo and master sessions, stacked background vocals, original songs written both for commercial and personal use; production for demos and commercial releases.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been singing all my life, but singing professionally since I was 16. I was classically trained in voice at the University of Georgia, and have studied songwriting in many classes taught by Berklee College of Music professor Pat Pattison, and hit songwriter Steve Seskin.

  25. Q: What's your typical work process?

  26. A: Listen / prepare / pre-produce / record / edit.

  27. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  28. A: I just did a cover project for a client of a pop song I wouldn't normally cover, but I enjoyed the challenge thoroughly - especially stacking background vocals, which is always one of my favorite things to do.

  29. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  30. A: Digital. Time is money!

  31. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  32. A: That you'll be happy with my work.

  33. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  34. A: I like the actual work. Singing and songwriting makes me happier than any other job I've had, and each project I complete gives me a huge sense of satisfaction.

  35. Q: How would you describe your style?

  36. A: Loose yet accurate; curious and thorough.

  37. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  38. A: Busbee. He seems to reside at that genius cross-section of authenticity, taste, and commercial viability.

  39. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  40. A: I always recommend getting a solid performance over editing on the back end.

  41. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  42. A: Singing and songwriting.

  43. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  44. A: Flawless pitch, emotion, vulnerability, and precision.
