A Thing From The South consists of an audio engineer and a session guitarist and songwriter. We are specialised in the whole recording/mixing/mastering process as well as composing and producing songs.

We offer everything from recording locally at our studio in Madrid to mixing + mastering, production, lyric/melody creation, session guitarists and song writing.

If you are an artist or songwriter, we can help you develop your sound and assist with arrangement or technical issues.

Look for someone who will make your music sound as it sounds in your head

What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
I've been playing piano since I was 10. After I began with the guitar as a teenager for around 15 years. Two years ago I went to audio school for music production. Since then I haven't stopped recording, mixing and mastering.
How would you describe your style?
Dynamic, Powerful
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
John Mayer, great songs, awesome playing, good singing.
Can you share one music production tip?
If the singer not really digging it with headphones, record from the control room with monitors minimising the bleed putting it out of phase.
What type of music do you usually work on?
Mainly "acoustic music"...Blues, country, americana, rock..
What's your strongest skill?
Listening to what the artist wants, and doing my best to get there.
What do you bring to a song?
My personal taste, bust most importantly getting the artist what he's trying to achieve.
What's your typical work process?
For mixing: If I have not tracked the song, I speak with the artist to know exactly where do they want the song to go and try to get a rough mix from them if possible. After that...every song is different. Usually begin with the rithm section.
