Fiona Forman

Remote Full Service Producer

Song demo to fully produced radio ready track - I can get you there! My passion is to work on great songs, sung by excellent singers such that they become fully produced tracks, ready to distribute and / or pitch to sync licensing opportunities.

I’m an Australian female pop producer and multi-instrumentalist, able to provide Full Service Music Production. My skills include songwriting; arranging; instrumental session work; full song production; vocal editing, tuning and production; mixing and mastering.

Do you have a great song idea & want to see where it could go?
'Two heads are better than one' - I have taken snippets of songs, and co-written with my clients from scratch to create a unique track that would never have emerged from their (or my) heart alone. Songs always seem to be so much better when worked on together.
OR maybe you have a full song in your head, imagining the style and instrumentation of it already?
'Vision fulfilment' - I have taken a client's fully written song and their instrumental ideas, and worked with them to create the track they imagine in their head, using reference tracks to communicate the sound they want.

As a life-long musician, I have realised my dream of owning my own studio, and producing for authentic artists who want to create the music that tells their story to the world.
BONUS - Your story can help others to tell theirs!
I have specialised in writing and producing for sync licensing, with almost every track I've produced represented by sync licensing agencies, bringing opportunities for my client's authentic 'artist' songs to be used in film/tv and advertising.

Interview with Fiona Forman

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: I always get to know my client and their vision for a song up front, before starting a track. I want the client to 100% happy with the end result! I send 'work in progress' files to the client throughout the process to ensure I am on track. Once all elements of the instrumental production are included, the client sends vocal tracks to me to do the vocal production. (vocal editing and tuning can be done by the client OR myself as an option to be included in the project price) The final Mix phase is quite simple, as most of the mixing is done through the production phase.

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: Using Cubase as my DAW, I blend 'real' instruments such as guitars with 'in the box' elements such as synths and drum programming, with a variety of plug-ins and digital instruments. The most unique part of my studio is my guitar equipment, much of which is designed and built by my husband Trev. A very versatile Forman valve amp, multiple guitar speakers, re-amping facilities and a selection of electric and acoustic guitars and basses. I can get fantastic guitar tones in my guitar playground!

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: I take a client's song from rough idea to completion. That means giving feedback, perhaps co-writing, until the best version of the song is finalised then adding my creativity to their vision. I track & produce all instruments, creating interesting parts that communicate the heart of the song and serve the message. I pull in the client's vocals and produce them to give the song it a life of its own.
