Interview with Jamie

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: That you will be happy with the work done. I will make sure you get your song the way you want it. I have access to other engineers as well if needed, and I will do whatever in my power guarantee your song sounds great.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: Its music! I love working with music and just to be able to create something that invokes emotion and takes you out of your day to day for a few minutes.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Contact me! Everybody is different, and every song is different. I want to make sure you are getting what you need, and for that communication is key. We can discuss and work out everything from budget to services.

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I have been working with music for about 6 years now, and I started simply by taking Protools classes ad earning a certification. Since then, I have gone on a couple Recording schools, and worked in numerous studios, with many great Producers and Mix engineers

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: My style of music is usually more pop sounding than anything. I enjoy bright vocals that are the center of attention. Big choruses, big build ups, and a catchy melody is all I ask for.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Any and all artists. I love listening to new artists, and learning their style

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Always start with a direction in mind

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: I usually work with pop, r&b, elm, and hip hop

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: I believe my strongest skill is my ears for balance. I like to make sure my mixes are level throughout. I will be able to find those harsh frequencies, or figure out those dynamic changes and fix them with my knowledge of mixing.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: In my mixing and producing I bring feeling and flow to a song. I always strive to have a song tell a story. A song should be dynamic and move throughout each section. I mix bright standout vocals, that sit perfect in the mix, using the proper techniques such as panning, eq, compression, etc. Not simply cracking up the gain. Your mixes will sound great loud and soft.
