Luca García Ferrari on SoundBetter

Kia ora, I'm a young bass player and songwriter from New Zealand who is really keen to make some music!

I've been playing bass for a while now and have experience laying down recorded bass lines, both in the studio and from home.

Contact me if you need bass tracks for your project, any genres are welcome! I will send you a couple of different lines and possibilities, both in clean DI form as well as an effected track with a sound that I find appropriate.

Let me know if you are looking for fretted or fretless bass, and I can provide. I can also track guitar parts and help in the composition process if necessary (at additional cost).

Click on the contact button and tell me about your project!

Interview with Luca García Ferrari

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: I find myself most comfortable in modern environments, but am versatile and love working on many different things. From rock to jazz and anything in between.

  3. Q: What's your typical work process?

  4. A: I love listening to a song a couple of times before tracking if I can. Sometimes I have my bass in hand and jam along, and other times I just listen and take things in. Then I experiment some more, and finally get to tracking.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I've several basses to fit whatever the recording needs, and can get any sound that's necessary - be it a modern active sound from my Ibanez SR1400, or a more motown influenced tone from my Fender Mustang. I also have a Darkglass Microtubes 500v2, which can do anything from vintage edge-of-breakup sounds to modern metal without breaking a sweat.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: I can only hope the right word is unique. I like to find ways to serve the song with my playing, while also not sounding like everyone else.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: My unique blend of influences! From learning to play tunes by the likes or Rush or Jamiroquai to playing live and recording punk and jazz rock jams, I wear my influences on my sleeve and bring them to any recording I take part in.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: I just love hearing people who have their own voice. People like Peter Hook or Geddy Lee inspire my bass playing, and musicians like Charly García inspire my songwriting.

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: Bass playing! Be it live or recorded, nothing beats writing and laying down a great bass line for a great song.
