Quizz began many years ago as an artist so he understands the artist perspective. Through years of developing skills as an engineer, he discovered that's where he can serve the most. Much of his knowledge was from instruction under industry professionals such as Scott Kieklak and Cameron Cartee with multiple gold and platinum plaques. After earning his degree at AIMM (Atlanta Institute of Music and Media), he became a professor there and a recording engineer at an Atlanta studio. He has recorded, mixed, and mastered for artists from hip-hop to pop to gospel. He has recorded and edited dialogue for Shaquille O'Neal, mayoral candidate for Atlanta: Antonio Brown, intro to music videos such as “Dance My Stress Away” by Demarco featuring Stephen Marley, and more. Please reach out to discuss how he might be of help in your success as an artist and content creator!

Interview with Quizz
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love when an artist is thrilled with the outcome.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What timeframe do you have for finishing your project? What is your goal with this song/project? What songs/artists influence you? Are there any specific instructions? Sometimes an artist already has an idea of a drop or a special effect in certain places.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Put your heart and soul into your recording. I can sculpt your sound, but I can't provide energy.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: J Cole because he is simply one of my favorites. I would also really like to work with Halsey, I love the space and ambience in her songs.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't overthink it, use your instinct!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Hearing the possibilities.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My attention to detail and the nuances of each artist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It all starts with speaking to the client. Understanding their vision and knowing what's most important to them help me direct my focus. I typically build the mix around what is driving the song.
