Interview with Avid Beats
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q: How to upload to Spotify and claim their profile! A: Only one person can upload to all streaming platforms. If there are 2 artists on the track, add both as the primary or featured artist. And if you don't already have a Spotify artists profile, make a new one via your distributor (mine is currently Spinnup) and wait for the release of your song. When the song is up on all streaming platforms, then go to the Spotify for artists website, or get the app, and claim your profile. Note you will need to verify your identity in this process. Hope this helps! I am always happy to help with questions!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise versatility, and that I will always try my best :)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the creativity and the vast amount of different options... like the thousands of sounds waiting to be turned into a melody or drumbeat! Sounds have always been of interest to me, so when I started making music, it was just amazing! I love working with artists too, as every collaboration leads to different possibilities!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am very proud of all my projects, as they are all very special to me and are deep in my heart.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on an EP full of sad vibes this time. It is all written and produced, + arranged by me!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not anyone on SoundBetter but all the successful collaborators would definitely recommend me. Here are just 2 of many: "Avid Beats is so talented that it is something special and it is a pleasure to collab!" - Timea Sarina "...you're so awesome, creative, and very talented. This has been a true pleasure..." - Therese Lefèbvre (professional classical pianist)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital as I don't have the space, digital sounds just as good to me, especially Omnisphere :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Woah, this one's hard! I'd say that probably its a misconception that things come easy and being a music producer is not complicated :)
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I like to get to know people and their needs and styles!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Choose me if you like what you hear - simple :)))))
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My mind is the most important! Then my phone, iMac, headphones, and interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been making music for 4+ years and continue to experiment. I am still quite young, and am looking to build and grow with artists.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Very emotional, it varies so much like in my mind :)
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Any that brings a unique twist! I believe in being true to the heart, so someone really emotional and can put their feelings with me into a project :)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: See my tutorials on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXuy41kmJoAywY-opbL0PbqY_mTyOEDbk I'd say, channel into your feelings and always experiment.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Singer-songwriter, pop, trap, beats, acoustic, dancehall, afrobeats + more!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Putting my emotions into an art form.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring versatility, and a unique, nature touch. I feel a lot of emotions, and that is what makes each piece of my music so different each time.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Either the singer can send their raw vocals, or I can send an instrumental! I like to discuss with them their preferences too before I make :)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work on an iMac loaded with Logic Pro X. I use Omnisphere and Addictive Keys mainly for my sounds. I have KRK Rocket 5s, an Audio Technica AT2020 mic with Marantz reflection filter, an M-Audio Keystation 49 MIDI Keyboard, a Scarlett Solo Focusrite Interface and Sennheiser 280 HD Pro headphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by Billie Eilish as she is vegan, and neuro-divergent too. And most music including Japanese music, ethnic music and all world music gives me lots of inspiration!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do collaborations with trained musicians in various styles. I can work from raw a cappella and build a whole song around it, I can mix + master vocals, song-write, make beats, work on, edit and arrange a piano composition + more.
