Enjoli on SoundBetter

Hi I’m Enjoli, I’m an Alternative singer-songwriter producer who specializes in Hip Hop, Rock and R&B. I sing, rap, play guitar & bass. My influences that I’ve learned from include Lenny Kravitz, Biggie, Pharrell, Janet Jackson and many more! My voice has been described as soft, edgy and unique.

Full Music Production: If you’re looking to create a song from scratch, I’d love to know more about your story and vibe you’re looking for so we can create something true to you. Doesn't matter if it's a phone voice memo/rough draft. We can turn this into a full song together!

Songwriting: Lyrics & melodies is second nature. Let me help find the words to what you feel inside.

Vocals: I can provide high quality vocals for your demo - can be singing or rap.

Interview with Enjoli

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm currently working on 2 EP's - Bloom, and KenDoll. Both tie into each other about self acceptance and love. These will be my first ever project releases!

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital because it's convenient but would love to learn to work with analog in the future for a warm hybrid approach.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: To listen to your inspirations, and ideas. I'll ask questions and communicate with you along the process to make sure we are capturing that essence you are after.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: 1. MacBook - shit, what if the battery dies? 2. a battery.... but where's an outlet? oh lawdt - scratch that we're going caveman. .... 1. Pencils - (pens dry up) 2. Notebook - and now we can doodle too folks ;) Hangman anyone? 3. Guitar 4. Voice Recorder 5. Batteries for voice recorder.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Hearing something that just flowed from your mind and into song is probably one of the coolest things ever!

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: What inspires you? Any particular songs to reference? And If they're open to sharing the story behind the song I like to talk about it so we can get that emotion into the song.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I've been writing songs since about 10. First song was definitely about chicken nuggets but I eventually learned there were more romantic things in the world.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: Chill honest lyrics, and a guitar with attitude.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Lenny Kravitz - he's the reason I picked up a guitar. Music aside he seems like a pretty cool guy. I'd love to work with him and learn from him directly.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Create what's inside you, not what's trending. Also finding the right teacher (online or in person) can save you a lot of time and teach you new tips & skills.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: Lyrics and the will to figure things out. I'm always open to learning.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: When I hear a sound usually I'll get this feeling when I know the words or melodies will flow to me. If I feel nothing its like forcing something to happen. Lyrics and music usually come to me at the same time.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: It's simple and light. I use my MackBook Pro & Logic Pro X. Plug in my Guitar/Bass via Focusritet interface. And use a few plug-ins

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: Jerry Wonda & Wyclef Jean - these guys are super talented with production and also from my home state. If you listen close their sonics in the music are some of the best. Also BabyFace, Dr. Dre, Sadé - timeless creators.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: Full song productions from start to finish.
