Interview with Be Hudson
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I worked with HUGEL, a DJ that I admire a lot. He needed some vocals for the remix of the song "Beautiful Girls". I was very happy with the result
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I'm recording some vocal for my friend. He is a great producer. We are working together in this song :)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: If you're looking for a drummer, I highly recommend Tom DuPree III. He does some incredible work.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both have their applications. In most circumstances, an analog sounding unit can't be beat, but they aren't always simple to come by. If you use the correct digital plug-in, you can speed up a procedure while simultaneously getting a similar outcome.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I vow to provide you a high-quality performance that you will like.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: My profession is in the music business. Everything about it appeals to me. If I had to pick a favorite thing, I guess it would be being a part of the creative process.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: When do you think you'll be able to get this to me? That is my response. "When do you need it by?" I prefer to complete tasks as quickly as possible. It's good for me to turn jobs around faster, and it's good for the client to get things back on time. Having said that, I don't like rushing anything without putting in the necessary time and effort. I want my customers to return again and again.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I'm just good at singing pop songs. My musical styles range from pop to R&B, hip hop to trap.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: It would have to be based on the information they give me.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I can present you with a singing performance of the highest caliber. Whatever you require, I will provide a competent service with a short turnaround time.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer, guitar, cables, microphone and interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been a professional vocalist since the age of ten. I am currently 21 so I have been singing for 11 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My personal style is current pop music. The top 40. I try to make music that is both catchy and commercially successful.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd like to collaborate with Justin Bieber. He is really excellent, in my opinion.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The most crucial lesson I've learned is to make sure your room is soundproof. Your room is lying to your ears if it is not treated.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: So many different styles to choose from. There isn't a lot of heavy metal. Pop, R&B, and EDM are the most popular genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I've spent much of my life as a professional vocalist. So I'd say my biggest skill is my ability to sing. But I believe I have a strong knack for many aspects of music making.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I provide a professional vocal that distinguishes your music from the competition. I can also apply any effects on my vocals, your vocals, or your mix. I can also tune any voices you require tuned, using Auto Tune for the T-Pain sound or Melodyne for a more subtle, genuine effect.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depending on the nature of the assignment, I will carefully listen to the client's requirements and respond in a professional manner.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Slate VMS, Focusrite Interface, Izotope, Verbsuite Classics, Melodyne, Logic Pro, Kilohearts, LiquidSonics, Eiosis, Shure
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, John Mayer
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Record your song. Edit vocals (Tuning, EQ, and Effects). Deliver Dry and Edited vocals.
