I'm Kris Bradley! I'm singer/songwriter/producer living in Nashville. My artist project is Americana/Blues/Country but I have a pretty soulful rich tone and have experience in singing many other genres, including Rock, Jazz and EDM.

Fresh off the successful release of her debut single, “We Don’t Paint the Town,” now charting at 67 on Music Row Magazine, singer-songwriter-producer Kris Bradley is bringing a sassy and refreshing sound to today’s country music scene. The redlipped tunesmith, who has had songs placed on both Cartoon Network and the E! Channel, is known for her upbeat melodies, sultry vocals and uniquely clever lyrics. Having been compared to the likes of Gretchen Wilson, Amy Winehouse and Brandy Clark, she inscribes a musical signature that is adventurous, authentic and audacious.

Reviews of Kris Bradley

Kris did a fantastic job on my demo. Her interpretation of my song was spot on, her vocals fantastic and the overall production was great. All of this on a short time-frame over the July 4th holiday. Additionally Kris is a pleasure to work with: responsive, courteous and professional. I couldn't give her a stronger recommendation.

Kris is absolutely amazing! Not only is she a great vocalist with a very unique sound, she is also an incredible producer! I've had several demos done at the bigger studios here in Nashville, and I almost never walked away with what I wanted. Kris has definitely simplified things for me - and actually made the whole process a lot more fun!

Kris is a total pro. She knows the gear and knows how to deliver a quality track. Of course, the best thing about her is her voice. Put it this way - I received my track and booked her to do another song the next day.

Kris did a fantastic job with my song. She brought the right sound and intensity to a song that needed a new vocalist. I will use her on another piece definitely.

Interview with Kris Bradley

Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
I co-produced, played and sang on my entire debut album "Worth a Shot" available at krisbradleymusic.com/songs and my debut single "We Don't Paint the Town" is currently charting on Music Row Charts!
What are you working on at the moment?
Right now I'm actually working on a side project that falls into the "Trip Hop" genre. It's mainly intended for Film and TV. I am glad to share personal private links to that, but I cannot post it as it is not released yet.
Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
I recently connected with a producer Ziv (searchable under Ziv Music). He's an extremely talented producer and has a killer voice.
Analog or digital and why?
Digital. I learned everything from inside the box.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
I promise I will give 110% to your project and keep communication flowing throughout the process.
What do you like most about your job?
I absolutely love creating and collaborating. I love connecting with the vision of the client and hearing things like "ahh, it's like you were in my head! You read my mind!"
What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
Most common questions are turnaround time and price. Both vary, but my turn around time isn't usually longer than a week.
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
Not sure actually. I suppose there aren't as many females doing this so that may raise some apprehension in some, but my clients have been really happy with my work to date.
What questions do you ask prospective clients?
I usually ask them what songs and artists inspired the song they're asking me to work on.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Give artist/song examples if you can. Helps to guide the direction!
If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
mic, interface, laptop, acoustic guitar, midi controller
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
I've been playing and writing music my entire life. I've been a professional, making a living off of it, for the past 8 years or so.
How would you describe your style?
My artist project is a hybrid of country/pop/americana with jazzy sultry vocals and potent lyrical narratives. I produced, played and sang on my entire record and my single "We Don't Paint the Town" is currently charting on Music Row.
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
I would love to work with Adele someday. She has so much emotion, she could sing the alphabet and it would probably still bring tears to my eyes.
Can you share one music production tip?
Pull the worktape into the session, even if it's just a voice memo. It's nice when you can get to it quickly for a reference.
What type of music do you usually work on?
As a producer I work a multiple genres but I would say the majority of what I work on is singer/songwriter/country/pop. I'm currently working on a Trip Hop project that is out of this world. More on that later ;)
What's your strongest skill?
I think my strongest skill is the ability to connect with the client's vision. I'm very intuitive and when I hear the worktapes I can almost immediately hear the intention/direction.
What do you bring to a song?
Lots of creativity, a unique approach to instrumentation and production, a rich and authentic vocal. (I can also outsource for a male vocal, or another female if it's better suited for the song)
What's your typical work process?
I usually start with a map based on the work tape, guiding the song with a guitar or piano & drums till the structure is in tact. Then I adjust according and add proper instrumentation. I also check in with the client regularly to make sure we're on the same page.
Tell us about your studio setup.
Logic Pro X, Avantone CV 12, Alpha Focal monits, Apogee Modules, Wavs Plug ins, Sample Library
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
As an artist I'm very inspired by Miranda Lamber, KT Tunstall, Brandy Clark, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Etta James, the list goes on. As a producer I have many musical influences including: Ryan Tedder, The Smeezingtons, Andrew Slater, Max Martin, Mike Elizondo, Dave Grohl, Rick Rubin.
Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
My most common work is taking a rough work tape, whether it just be a voice memo or a guitar vocal, and turning it into a professional demo. I do anything from clean guitar/piano vocal demos to broadcast ready full productions.
