Remote Piano Recording on SoundBetter

Add to your musical project a stunning sounding piano track made with an historic Steinway & Sons Hamburg piano and recorded by a professional pianist.

No matter the size of your project, it can be done. We can arrange, compose, interpret, read or transcribe anything. The easiest way for us is to get your bounced audio files, musical chords, sheets or MIDI files. We are flexible with formats. We will return to you four tracks, two microphones recorded with Neve preamps, and two tracks recorded with two YAMAHIKO pickup systems. If you want we can deliver a 2 track mix with the sound of the house and mastering if wanted.

Interview with Remote Piano Recording

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Music for a theater play, just piano. It is called "Conferencia sobre la lluvia" by Juan Villoro, one of the greatest mexican writers. The music was made just with piano.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I do a lot of music for theater and film.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: We record digital, in Pro Tools, 96Khz, really low noise.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: You will have the best sounding piano you can get anywhere.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The sound, the musicality.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: How many time it takes me to record a piano. It takes from two to four days per track maximum. If pieces are similar we can work faster.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I don't like to show my skills, I will always look at music as an integer, my track is just part of a mechanic system.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: How many songs you want? Do you have sheets?, What style of music?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: We are really professionals, you will love our sound and flexibility.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: In place, very musical, rhythmic when needed, minimal voicing in chords and harmony, and very melodic when needed. I love oriental scales.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Anouar Brahem

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: The sound of a beautiful piano relays in the piano voicing, tuning, and maintenance.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop, Jazz, Soft, Singed.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Musicality, good sound, good harmony and just adding the necessary notes to your track.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: We can put to your song an unique and beautiful piano sound, really, there is no piano like the one we have.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: We receive the track you want to record, some times in a Pro Tools session, some times in a demo track. We can arrange, compose or interpret anything. If it is very complicated we have a network of great pianists. We deliver very fast, two days or four maximum per song. We give you two options: one stereo track or four tracks. 96 Khz or lower.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: One Steinway & Sons Hamburg piano, manufactured in 1954, and bought in Steinway Hall London, in excellent conditions, like new. Great and unique sound. We record with two Neve preamps, and two YAMAHIKO pickup systems. We offer a great, really great sound.
