Looking for unique non-copy cat sounds and music production? Then you have come to the right place! *I DO ONLY PAID JOBS ONLY ATM*

Swedish Independent Techno & Melodic Techno Music Producer & Synthesizer sound designer. Credits include Roland Corporation & Mercurial Tones

I do music production & sound design with analog hardware & digital synths (hybrid system) including my own pre-mixes before sending my tracks to professional mixing/mastering engineers.
As a producer & sound designer, my main objective is always to make the song and sounds shine. All preset sounds I use are programmed from scratch to get the most unique feeling out of it.

I specialize in producing underground based electronic music (EDM) by creating my own sound and style without copying anything or anyone to keep myself unique and do my own pre-mixes before mix/master stage.
My other specialized area is to program all synth presets from scratch to get best fitting character and sound to a track that will fit in to 100% with VST synths, but mainly use 90% of my hardware synth racks.

Interview with Mnexsis

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: I used to work in the box only until I went deep into the analog world. Neither digital or analog, but both as a combination like my music i've released, a hybrid sound. Why? Because I feel most of the analog stuff out there has a little more to offer due to their characters and sound to it. I feel that most digital stuff has to be processed a little bit too much these days, and not in a good way.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: Total satisfaction. I think it's important to tell the client that you are actually doing the best to get what is to be expected to come out from a music studio. It has to sound good before sending anything out to the world out there. Same way I work on my own music and sound designing.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Follow your instincts and don't overthink it!

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: "Do you mix & master?" is the most common question. The answer is no, because I am not specialized in that delicate area which is why I hire professional engineers to do that work to get the quality I'm looking for.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: Most common at the moment has been audio vocal recording for indepedent artist based in Stockholm, Sweden where i am based. Besides that, i have done some sound design for one of the biggest international synthesizer companies, Roland Corporation, and another job for swedish techno label Mercurial Tones. Always looking forward to work with new assignments!

  11. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  12. A: I´m proud of all my projects i´ve done so far and not just only one of them. Why? Because every song gives you a different vibe and feeling.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: Right now I am mainly working on my new upcoming solo songs and collaborations with some artists from the USA, but also rebranding my sound preset packs I used to sell on Mystery Islands Music for various synthesizers that I will start to sell on my own.

  15. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  16. A: I have so far only been in touch with the singer/songwriter Monty Wells who is a very talented male vocalist. I am looking forward to seeing what other vocalists I can find in the future for my future projects.

  17. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  18. A: Everything in between.

  19. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  20. A: Based on the private sector where i´ve been most present at, they expect everything to be included, and to be cheap for the amount of work that I do that others cannot provide based on my skills.

  21. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  22. A: I always ask what they are looking for specifically so dont expect too much. These days, customers can expect a little too much without asking about the details. So I always ask specifically what they want or are looking for.

  23. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  24. A: Always ask specific questions on what you´re looking for before hiring someone to get what you would expect.

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: Oh my god i don´t want to even think about it...that's a hard one since i love my current setup. But if i had to choose, it would be my RME Fireface 802, My Eve Audio Monitors & Subwoofer, Roland JP8080 and my ESI midi interface.

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: Started like any beginner back in 2003 and discovered FL STUDIO thanks to an old childhood friend and just kept on producing songs to develop my skill set. Back in 2010 I met one of my engineers from Norway who taught me alot about audio and music production which helped me alot to evolve, ever since that I have been self taught in order to get better and also done a lot of reading. I can't really say I have a full time career yet, but I'm proud and happy with the amount of achievements I have till this day. Maybe it's coming soon, who knows!

  29. Q: How would you describe your style?

  30. A: My style & sound is a lot out of today's industry standard. I would describe it to be Trancy, Progressive & Psychedelic.

  31. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  32. A: There are so many out there to work with but if i had to pick some names, it would be Hannes Bieger and Jean Michel. Why? Because I feel we have the same fundamental thinking about music and sound design and of course, professionalism in audio.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: Right now at the moment i'm mainly working on solo artist project MNEXSIS in the EDM sub genres Techno/Melodic Techno and my own sound design various synthesizers.

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: To make everything sound alive and rich, even before the mixing & mastering engineering process.

  37. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  38. A: I focus on to give the song a vibe and feeling that will connect with the listener. I like to give them a feeling and visual experience together with the listening.

  39. Q: What's your typical work process?

  40. A: Really depends! Sometimes i start creating the kick drum and start adding the drums to create a rythm and vibe to it, and sometimes i start making the sounds that comes up in my mind and create the melodies and bit by bit creating the beat. Once i have small idea, thats where the whole track progress starts to happen.

  41. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  42. A: Audio gear: RME Fireface 802,Ferrofish Pulse 16 MX ADDA converter Monitors & Sub: EVE Audio Sc207 & TS108 Midi interface: ESI M8UXL Synths: Roland JP-8080 Waldorf Micro Q, Pulse & Blofeld Novation Supernova Korg MS2000R Nord Rack Access Virus A

  43. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  44. A: Hannes Bieger & Jean Michel Jarre. Why? because it was guys like them who inspired me to get hardware synths and opened up my mind of what you can do besides everything you do in the box.
