As a musician and producer, nothing makes me more excited to share my approach and feel to any production that I have the opportunity to be a part of. Authentic Reggae basslines, RnB grooves & live band productions to tropical dancehall beats.
Music has been a part of my life from a very young age. Up until 2012 when I started learning how to make beats and produce, is when I realized how much I enjoyed it all. As the years progressed I've had the pleasure of recording bass tracks and sharing the stage locally and on tours with artists such Tarrus Riley, Capleton, Kelissa, Rootz Underground, Tessanne Chin, Ras-I, Kvlar and 6Points Band just to name a few.

Interview with Salim "BruceLim" Browne
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: In the process of finishing up a Reggae Juggle Riddim with a few artists on it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Seeing the creative process with any project and the different reactions of persons that hear it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you don't necessarily have an idea as to what you want, just be open minded and trust the process.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I think I'm still having a difficult time describing my style. Imagine if Reggae and Trap had a baby. Hiphop drum sounds, reggae "BruceLines" (as I call any line I create just for the heck of it haha), simple phrases and so on. A cool, laid back type of vibe. Then there is the more authentic side of reggae whereas there is more live instrumentation involved, included a horn section. Who doesn't like a good horn section?
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: So hard to pick just one lol. My Top 5 would be Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chronixx, Jaden Smith & Justin Bieber. The vibe of all five artists are similar in the sense of them being able to sing well and also have the ability rap/DJ and I love that. Their choice of melodies and the tones of their voices I find are extremely beautiful and unique in what they do.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically work on a lot of Reggae, Tropical/Dancehall and a mixture of Reggae and Trap which happens to be a style i'm building on.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Playing bass.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: In terms of "BruceLine", I try to make it as memorable as possible, unique to the song or as fun as it is suitable for the song. On a production stand point, I believe no matter how simple or complex a song is, as long as there's something(s) in the song that can get people's attention, make them dance or do anything, it's a great song.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Being in a family of musicians, I love being around my dad and grandfather Robert "Dubwise" Browne (guitarist and producer) and Glen Browne (bassist and producer) whenever they're working on personal projects or another for other clients. The dedication and approach to what they do is truly inspiring. The smallest details that makes a major difference in laying tracks and productions on a whole.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Majority of my clients have brought Reggae instrumentals. Could be for a "Juggle Riddim" or just a single.
