Hi there! I’m Petra, and I’m an indie-pop artist based in New York. I specialize in topline writing, songwriting (focus on lyrics) and singing. In the past, I have co-written music with Alex Arias (Cher, Christina Aguilera, Rob Thomas & The Mowglis) and worked with engineers including Lena Leon, and BREYER. I also write for myself in my own solo music project under my name, Petra Jarrar (feel free to check out on all music streaming platforms).

I have over 12 years in musical training which includes, piano, voice, guitar, and music theory. My niche writing field is indie pop/alt-pop/dark pop music but can write in almost any style you are seeking.

Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I find myself constantly able to reimagine ideas that might be leaving you a bit stuck. I like to think outside the box and of all different possibilities when it comes to working on a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My goal is to be able to bring a new perspective to the narrative you are trying to tell in your song; whether you're feeling stuck, unsure how to fully express your ideas into words, or are looking for certain vocal delivery on your next song, I am here to help.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I have so many inspirations; lately, I've been inspired by Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, Marina, Rina Sawayama, Grimes & Tove Lo, to name a few.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most common work involves topline melody writing & lyrics.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of my work is in the Pop field (indie pop, electro-pop, synth-pop, dance-pop, bedroom pop, dark pop, alt-pop, etc).
