My name is Fabian Boreck; born in Berlin I got my first cello lessons at the age of 5.
I studied at the world-renowned »Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin«, but my interest in Early Music led me to conclude my studies at the »University of the Arts Berlin« with a Master's Degree on the baroque cello.
After stages as a permanent member of the »Junge Deutsche Philharmonie« (federal student orchestra »Young German Philharmonic«), substitute in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Staatskapelle Weimar, now, I am the associated Principal Cellist of the Oldenburg State Orchestra (Germany), as well as a soloist and chamber musician.
My specialty is to record the sound of my cello (Salomon, Paris 1764) in hi-res quality, so don't hesitate to contact me if you need customized cello music. If you have a written/full composed part, I will follow it – but if you don't I will improvise.

Interview with Fabian Boreck • Cellist
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: In order to avoid any major complications between the devices (which ultimately benefits the quality), I generally record in stereo at 192kHz/24Bit or DSD with a "field recorder", the Sony PCM-D100. I work with Audacity and listen to the recordings via an audiophile 5.0 system consisting of ELAC loudspeakers and a Cambridge Audio amplifier.

A: Quality, Quality, Quality.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I will answer it with a quote from me: "Music is a language that needs no translation and yet can be spoken and understood by everyone."
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Playing since the age of 5. Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Sometime simple - sometime complex. But everytime in service for the music and its emotions.

A: Listen to your instrument!

A: Classical, Soundtrack, Ambient, Covers, Solo Cello
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Neat and friendly work. No "marketing" but only pure cello!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My full passion - consisting of my life long experience as a pro cellist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listening, listening, listening. Improvising / composing on the Cello. Allow the music to rest. Recording.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I love it to listen and playing soundtracks - but since I am a trained classical cellist with diploma and master, this area is of course a preference. Besides, I listen to uplifting trance all my life, and I also like to improvise. In general I love to improvise.
