I’m a producer/composer/songwriter specializing in storytelling, in multiple genres. I have worked in live music, in studio sessions, on songs, on tv shows, on films (short and feature) and a meditation app!

Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Depends on the project and the vibe. Whichever is going to tell the story of the project best.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to help you bring your idea to life in a authentic flow that serves you and the purpose of your project/song...in other words whatever we set out to do will be dope and high quality!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being a part of people’s story and putting great vibes and content into the world.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What’s your turnaround time? What’s your rate? Turnaround time depends on the project and what they need from me and the rate is well...the same answer :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s easy, or that it doesn’t take a Certain set of skills to do. In the age of digital it has made it much easier, but it doesn’t take a way the work and knowledge required to do the work.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s your vision/idea for this? What’s the inspiration/story behind it? What’s your goal? What vibe/feeling are you going for? Do you have a sound in mind? What’s the project/song for?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Say what’s on your mind! Whatever it is, none of your ideas are dumb or impossible, we just have to come together and figure out how to bring it to life in a way that Works and makes sense :)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer, sustain pedal, midi keyboard, speakers, and microphone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Man...well I started as a Respiratory Therapist, but music has always been in my life from childhood in church playing drums just so I could make noise and not get in trouble for it, lol. I moved to LA in my late twenties and realized that this thing I loved could actually be a career and I dove into different elements of it, background vocaling, playing and arranging live shows, artist development, producing and writing, to composing. And the last four have been on shuffle for the last couple of years. I’ve been in this professionally for five years now!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Vibey, I am always looking for the groove, even I’m a ballad, even in an emotionally gripping score or meditative sound bed. There is always a groove, that moves the project.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: If I only get to pick one...Lauren Hill, because she is brilliant and the session would be a MasterClass!! If I get a second, Lizzo, she has relevant things to say and she represents a marginalized group with absolute confidence and grace, I’d love to be apart of that! And if I get a 3rd...Pharrell...i mean...another MasterClass and just a good time!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Let the production breathe, don’t put everything in at the same time for the whole song. Create moments. Play around with the elements in your production.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, alternative, dance and soul/r&b
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My people skills, I create a safe space for the client/artist to communicate exactly what they feel and need and we come up with a way to bring it to life.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Story and vibe. Because the story is not just in the lyrics, it’s in every element of the song from the lyrics to the bass line, to the piano/synth etc...they are all characters, and they all okay a part.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It really depends on the project and client. I ride the wave in submission to the song or creative work that is being produced. That usually includes a chat with the creatives/clients in relation to their vision and story. Which leads to the creative process unfolding to bring the vision and story to life!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a simple setup, my Mac, my motif, my midi keyboard, my headphones and myself :)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love Pharrell, Missy, Timbaland, Nicholas Britel, Hans Zimmer,Ryan Tedder, Cashmere Cat, and Youngfyre!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am a storyteller so I am usually producing/composing and arranging music, lyrics and the vibe or feel of the work to fit the story that the artist/client is wanting to tell.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My work on the first season of Stuck With You the tv series. I was brought on to the project later in the production and I was only supposed to do a song for one scene, but I ended up being music supervisor for a few episodes. As a music supervisor I was in charge of all of the music for the episode and man it was so much fun meeting with the director, writer and characters! I loved being a part of the world of the show and really getting to understand what sounds would match certain characters and certain scenes. Good Storytelling always makes me proud even if the story is silly or simple.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m working on a tv show called Stuck With You, which is exciting because they brought me back for season 2 after doing some work on their first season! I am also working with a veteran singer songwriter on her very first studio EP. She’s written hits for so many, and is now putting her own voice and story out there and I am honored to be a part of it!
