Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I love the idea of helping someone make their dream song become a reality. Most of the time, our inspiration hits us when we least expect it and we'll start to write lyrics on a restaurant napkin or a voice recording in our phone while we're at work. I love the idea of watching the song grow along the way.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: I would advise everyone looking for a producer to find someone that they can genuinely *~vibe~* with. Oftentimes, you're asking a producer to help tell a deeply personal story, and if you're not comfortable with the producer, your track might reflect that.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Louder doesn't mean better!

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: A majority of the clients I have already bring an idea (it could be lyrics, a melody, a drum track, etc) to the studio. Depending on what they've brought, I generally do a short interview with the client to find out their inspiration behind the track, or what story they're looking to tell with each track. From there, I will generally start with vocals first and build the track around the vocals.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I'm constantly inspired by innovative professionals and I'm always looking for new ways to achieve a certain sound. Recently, I've been loving Fiona Apple's new album 'Fetch The Boltcutters' because of how unorthodox the entire album is. The entire album was recorded, produced and mixed by her, all within her home. You can hear her banging on walls, her dogs barking in the background, and tons of other quirky hidden sounds throughout the record. It's inspiring to see new techniques to achieve "the perfect" sound.
