I've been in the music scene ever since I was 10 years old. After high school I decided to focus on the production side of music, I went to American River College for an AA in Commercial Music. After I graduated I started working as an assistant at Little Russia Recordings (Dance Gavin Dance, Black Map, A Lot Like Birds). After mentorship from owner Dryw Owens I have ran multiple sessions.
I specialize in Mixing and Mastering, with multiple years of experience with different genres I can bring any style to life no matter the recording.

When it came time to get a solid mix of an instrumental track I had made, the first person who came to mind to mix and master the track was Evan. Evan is extremely flexible and easy to work with and I can really tell that he cares about the projects he’s working on. The turnaround was extremely quick and he kept in constant contact with me about what I wanted with the track as well as consistently sending me his progress. In the end he perfectly captured the vibe I was looking for while also giving me a really solid mix. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Evan for any kind of audio service!

Evan has to be one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met. We’ve known each other since Highschool and even went to the same guitar teacher growing up. Recently after a long hiatus from music, I decided I was ready to record some acoustic songs. Evan was one of three mixers/masters I reached out to about mixing/mastering my demos and he was by far the most approachable and easy to work with. He has a genuine love for music and really tries to bring the full potential out of the recordings. I’m stoked with what Evan came up with on my demos and I was will definitely be reaching out to him again.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Remedies by Jasmine Bailey, it was the first time someone put their trust into their work and gave me the confidence to pursue this as a career. Both her and I worked together to get her vision across in the song
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A solo EP that includes electronic beats and a mix of pop/ trap beats
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I am brand new to this platform but I expect to meet plenty of happy clients
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: If I had the capability I would use a lot of analog gear. But a lot can be done with digital and compares almost 1:1 with analog.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always do my best to get the highest quality you deserve. Whenever I put my name on something I am always ready to
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Honestly hearing new and unique music
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What is my pricing. 50 for a mix 30 for a master. 50 for a songwriting collaboration. And all my mixes and masters are a final price deal, and as long as I get credit their will be no more fees no matter how big the song gets
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That anyone can do this. So many people I have met said they can mix and master their own songs and it usually turns out to be lacking that little extra to make it stand out.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your influences, what can I do to help, and what is the idea of the song you are trying to get.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: No matter your skill level, not matter your understanding of music production, I will be able to help and work with you that will leave an impact on your musical journey forever.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, headphones, and my Maschine Mikro. Honestly all I need
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing this for about 5 years now, and the past 2 years I have tried to make this a long time career.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Though my affinity for listening is hard rock and metal, I like to create spacey and dark electronic music. I attribute my style to knowledge of all genres, while picking and choosing those ideas in whatever song I feel fits.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Architects. One of my most favorite metal bands, I am fascinated by the artistry and would love to be a part of that.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Organize your files, dear god ORGANIZE! But if not that, understand the vibe you are trying to go for.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually hip hop and EDM thanks to my personal work. But I have an affinity for rock and Metal Music as well and always have fun mixing those songs
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My mixing ability I feel most confident about. Every single instrument and impact will be heard clearly and perfectly in each song I get to work on
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a unique mix of audio technicality and musical artistry. A lot of the times I feel what other people are feeling when making a song and my job is to enhance that feeling so anyone who hears the song automatically gets that feeling
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Usually will take an artists work and listen to the music they send a few times to get a grasp on what they are trying to and understand what influences I can spot. Then I will listen to those influences myself and try to see how they did what the artist did in their song and how I can tweak/replicate that feeling.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Very minimal, mainly a laptop and Pro Tools. But thanks to the music technology that is all you really need. A lot of grammy winning hits are made on some dudes laptop in their bedroom
