Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
My personal project: "elconEstharoe" [https://soundcloud.com/lambro] Ι believe that in that project I created exactly what I had in mind-I brought my fantasy into the material world better than ever-Hyperreal_Electronica....So I'm ok..I do not have any serious complaints-even if I live in Greece in a bad economic era-my Lab and my Wife are keeping me creative and fulfilled.
I've enjoyed answering your questions, I hope my answers will get you to know me a little bit...Bye Bye...!!
What's your typical work process?
There is no such thing!...ok!...concept design (in a form of a script-it helps a lot), research, material collection, sound design, orchestration and as a final step and very important: abstraction-even if it "hurts"..hehe!....I very much enjoy listening and creating minimal-austere orchestrations and timbres.
What are you working on at the moment?
I was recently accepted in Greece's Open University to study Ancient Greek Civilization, so I'm very excited about that.
I'm also slowly, but steadily designing a new personal track...which relaxes me.
Analog or digital and why?
Digital 'cause when Sound is converted into data, it can be transformed and manipulated into anything your imagination can travel to...Far far away...!!
Tell us about your studio setup.
It's a simple concept: Macbook_1 on my left for Recording and Mixing on Logic Pro. Macbook_2 on my right as a multi-sound design tool for all my sound design softwares.
In the center-as a central nervous system-a Yamaha_01x digital mixing console and controller for Logic Pro.
I also own two Theremin instruments which I adore.
For "sound-hunting" in nature I use Tascam's HD-P2 High Definition Stereo field recorder combined with a pair of Behringer's omni-directional flat response 20Hz to 20KHz ECM8000 microphones, in order to simulate-as close as I can-the cat's hearing multi-directional abilities.
And recently I was given a Samsung Galaxy tablet as a gift, which I use as a real-time spectrum meter and as a Sound-Design tool by using the exceptional "Jasuto" modular synthesizer.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
There is no promise, if I can do the job-I accept it-if not, I don't-as simple as that.
That way I'm stress free-which is very important to me.
Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
Sorry...I'm new here...Of course I would do it if I knew someone-no question about that!
What do you like most about your job?
What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
When and how much...Hahaha....The answer varies of course.
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
I do not own a studio, I've created a Lab-a Sound Design Lab!
What questions do you ask prospective clients?
Hmm...technical questions mostly.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
To be clear to his/her self about what he/she wants, so he/she will be explicit to what is asking from the technician.
If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
(I assume you don't mean food, water or clothing)
1_My field recording kit.
2_My tablet-(my sound tool tablet).
4_If I were informed in time about the destination-a printed water proof map.
5_Plenty of cigarettes and lighters-I do not cheat-that's for one!!!
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
If I include my study years.....Hmm....I'm 36 so...18 years-half my life.
How would you describe your style?
>The term hyperreal|electronica concludes everything about my Echodreams.
>A Symbolism or an echo|sound|dream could be a conjectural sense of a soundscape,|a soundscape should possess a sacred|hidden Geometry| or a description of a soundscape. >Sounds live in a surreal environment and they possess surreal qualities. >Often they Are the environment.
>"the sound of rain scours the soul."
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
Give me a moment please....
Because he is a surrealist-in my opinion of course.
I would really enjoy being his student.
Can you share one music production tip?
What type of music do you usually work on?
What's your strongest skill?
Observation and awareness of my surroundings-(soundscapes).
What do you bring to a song?
I am not a songwriter.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
The most inspiring music experience was listening for the first time the sound of the planets of our solar system from NASA's "symphonies of the planets" cd's.
