Born in Milano in 1968. He studied piano with Piero Rattalino and composition with Bruno Bettinelli. He worked as writer musicologist and was published at specialised magazines for piano review like: "Musica". Symphonia" and "Piano Time". At that time he began working in Teatro Regio di Torino as répétiteur and that experience introduced him to the operatic repertoire, being assistant to accomplished musicians such as Gianandrea Gavazzeni and Yuri Ahronovijtch.
