What are you working on at the moment?
We are currently working towards our own project to broaden our music catalog.
Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
I recommend Chris at Quantum Music Mastering. I worked with him in the past, and he is honestly the best mastering engineer I know.
Analog or digital and why?
Digital. Everything is so much quicker. In the modern era, if you were too slow to input your idea and forget it, you may have missed an opportunity of a lifetime.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
Our one rule in our music is to have energy. No matter what genre or tempo it is in, we want every song to have energy in the music.
What do you like most about your job?
I love the amount of creativity it requires in order to make a great piece of music. We both love the challenge, and the outcome is always the best.
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
"Do you DJ?". No not all producers are DJs.
Can you share one music production tip?
As much as the mixing or mastering is important, we believe that the songwriting and choice of instrumentation is the most important aspect of making music. We always try to think song-writing as our core idea, then branch out using different music production tools. Production can only get you so far if the songwriting is subpar.
What type of music do you usually work on?
We have worked with many different artists ranging from Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, EDM, Rock, Classical, etc. We feel that we can be the most experimental when it comes to pop music or EDM, as those genres tend to be more erratic in trends.
What's your strongest skill?
Our strongest skill comes form our experience and our diversity. We are able to adapt to any situation, and create a pseudo - identity to fit the client's needs. Our goal is to create a music so diverse, that people may not even recognize that it is our music, but still maintain our own color in the music
What do you bring to a song?
We bring passion, energy, and freshness into a song. We are both perfectionists, and if there is anything lacking, we will work on the project until the client is satisfied.
What's your typical work process?
We really don't have a typical work process, as we try to do different things for each project. However, we usually sit down together and plan out any ideas we may have at the moment, and collectively create the skeleton for the piece of music.
Tell us about your studio setup.
We work mainly with midi devices, but we do occasionally bring live instrumentation if we feel it as a necessity. We use Ableton Live for our DAW, along with a plethora of synthesizers including NI Massive, NI FM8, Nexus, and many more. We also use waves solid state collection for our production and mixing process.
Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
We fully-produce and fully write the music for our clients. We believe that a song is a collective work of art, and we want to create the most fluid piece of music in all aspects.
