Leigh is just an absolute pleasure working with. Very enthusiastic, kind, specific yet open minded and of course professional. She makes great music, and she communicates very well. I would work with her again in a heartbeat :)

Interview with Leigh C.

  1. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  2. A: I try to get as much information possible on the size and scope of the project, influences and vision for the final sound of the project, etc.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: Is it technical and artistic at the same time. The technical part is endlessly fascinating, and the artistic part is fulfilling because I get to work with other artists to help realize their musical vision.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Taylor Mesple is an amazing musician and producer, and a wonderful guy. William Jacobsen is a prodigious Norwegian studio guitarist I met through here; I've used him on a couple of my recordings. He has the rare combination of being able to rock out with energy and passion and still being sensitive to the needs of the music, so I highly recommend him.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Listen to work the person has already done. Can you picture a similar approach/sensibilities as a good fit for your own work? Also, know the specifics on what you hope to get out of hiring them - do you want help with songwriting, mixing, recording specific parts? And then be conscious of your money - what are their terms of payment (hourly/per service/beforehand/after completion)? How many revisions do they offer at no additional charge? Always be intentional and serve your own goals.
