Session Drummer,

Anonymus intro

I won't lie to you, I am no professional; however, I can create quality recordings for generally low prices. I am versatile in many genres such as hip-hop, jazz, prog metal, rock, fusion, and Afro-Cuban. In addition to recordings, I can write drum/percussion parts for your songs. If this is not necessary, I can record pre-written parts too.

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Profile User 284272

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I did a track with a new local artist called Sierra. I recorded a track called Roll Up for him and he blended me with a midi drum machine, and I was proud of how well my drums were able to mix with the Midi.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am writing my own prog-metal piece.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I am totally new to SoundBetter.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, everything being in the box is so much cleaner and easier to work with.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise I'll work hard with you to get you what you want.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Drums have been my passion since 6th grade. What's not there to like?

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Can you do 'X.' If I can, I say yes, but if not, I'll answer honestly, but I am always willing to learn new concepts.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That since I'm a kid, I can't be very good at what I do. You'd be surprised.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What is the vibe you're going for, and how do you want my drums to sound?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Look for a good person that'll work with you instead of a dick who thinks he's the shit.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My drums, computer, wifi, mics, and headphones. Thats all you need to record.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been playing drums for 8 year and recording for 4.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Complex, but tasteful.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to hop on a track with Jakub Zytecki. I think he has some outstandingly original work and I'd love to contribute to his masterpieces.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: I believe that good editing skills are just as important as good playing skills in order to make a track really come to life.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Recently I've been doing a lot of hip-hop, but I've done lots of stuff in the past.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Recording. I love the process and when I finish and hit the bounce button, it's extremely satisfying.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: A whole lot. I've studied the ways different drum 'vibes' can completely change the feel and message a song brings across.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: If I have the right timeframe, I like to spend about a week on a song before I sit down to record so that I can really learn it thoroughly. On recording day, I do as many takes as I need to get the perfect sound.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a Tama Superstar Classic 6-piece maple under Audix mics. I run all my audio and do editing through Logic.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Matt Garstka is my biggest inspiration right now, but also Chris Allison, Dave Elitch, Nicky Baglio, Plini, Tigran Hamasyn, and many many more.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I often do simple session work, a drum recording here and there for some regular customers, but I'm looking to expand to do more recordings and also some larger projects.
