Growing up playing acoustic bass in orchestras and jazz ensembles and always being interested in technology, I early on took the recording engineer "hat" in the bands I was playing in. Recording evolved into the interest of mixing and now - 10 years later I am still mixing.

Pushing the limits and utilising the latest technology has always been important to me because I want to make sure every measure is taken to evoke as much emotion out of every mix. This lead me to starting to work in the future format Dolby Atmos - described by many as first and only format to supersede stereo.

After working tirelessly to learn and create in this new format, I have develop a technique and a workflow that allows me to mix the stereo version of the song with the artist/client and in parallell craft the adaptable and future proof Dolby Atmos mix, which in turn can be re-rendered to 5.1, 7.1 etc. This lowers the cost of getting multiple versions of the sonas well as getting audible benefits in the stereo version through summing the audio in the Dolby Atmos renderer instead of directly in Pro Tools.

I have worked with artist such as Emma Jensen, Kristin Sesselja, Lionman as well as producing music and sound design for H&M, Human Horizons & Fabege.

The Dome offers both deep mixing expertise and superb service. The Dolby Atmos system in the studio is an absolute thrill to experience. Hiring Gabriel for mixing my tracks was a good decision since not only the Atmos version but also the usual stereo tracks sound incredibly crisp and immersive, more so than any normal stereo mix. 6/5

Interview with Gabriel Lundh @ the dome.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am working out of a 8-core 64GB RAM computer with all the worlds plugins including most of UAD Plugins, Waves, Fabfilter and Soundtoys. I also rent all of the Slate and Plugin Alliance plugins to ensure always having the newest software. My monitoring setup is ranging from 2x Adam S2X, A complete Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 Genelec SAM system and Auratones, to ensure that I can hear the mix properly. The main DA is being converted in my Crane Song Avocett II.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tchad Blake and Blake Mills are my top inspirations as they are pushing limits of music production to its edge. Always trying something new, rare sounding and unique as well as adding their touch to the productions.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am primarily a mixing engineer, but as I come from playing music and produce a lot - I can give arrangement ideas and additional production thoughts, if the artist wants it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Saturate everything.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I make sure that the arrangement is set up in such a way that the song hits right at the needed moments. I also make sure the song translate over the major variety of speakers and platforms available.
