Tony went the extra mile to work on a track, and still had the entire thing done within days, and done masterfully. Also was very patient with me the entire time, it's been nothing but great working with him.

The amount of quality that you get from one person is really amazing. Tony lives, eats, and breaths making music. YES! Anyone can say that, but after working with many other producers and musicians Tony has been the only person that has the ability to adapt to alot of different genres. He can play alot instruments and not just the basics this guy is a boss at bass, guitar, drums. A very strong quality that has helped me as a singer is his ability to direct me as a singer, is like having a vocal coach in the session. Bottomline if you want to take your sound to the next level he is the ONE.

Interview with Tony "Moment" Nardini

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: The projects that I've been able to work on from the ground up are always my favorites! Seeing something come from nothing is always the most amazing feeling.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Working on a full album for a 2-man band, a solo project, and developing multiple artists!

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Don't be afraid to reach out even before the project is fully finished, I might be able to help you past that!

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: Pro Tools 11, Logic Pro X, Apogee, Equator D5's Guitars: Caparison Horus, Strat, Ibanez, Music Man Bass

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: Mixing and full productions.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: Computer, MIDI keyboard, microphone, guitar, interface.

  13. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  14. A: AD/DA, if it sounds good, it is good.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: Fusion of many different genres.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Any artists that are open minded to expanding their sound beyond what they had even imaged themselves.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Anyone truly amazing at what they do.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: In a digital world where you have the ability to make everything as perfect as you can, perfection can end up sounding stale. Mistakes can make a song feel human and more emotional. Don't be afraid to let a few things slide in the performance!

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: My strongest skill would have to be my deep understanding and passion for music. It's what drives me to keep growing and learning as much as possible.

  25. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  26. A: I promise to give each project 110%! I will do my best in trying to bring the artists vision to life, or exceeding it!

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: I've been playing music since i was 13 years old in middle school band playing the "Euphonium". In high school, I started playing drums, then added the guitar in a few months later. I played in bands all throughout my high school years, played over 150+ shows in and out of state. All of that led me to music production and mix engineering, which I've been doing ever since!

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I try my best to bring out the best of the song in a way that surpasses what the artist wanted to hear!

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: (*deep, sensual voice*) I dim all the faders down low, and gently one by one, I raise each fader up letting the curves blend together... But seriously, that's how I start my mixes. Depending on what I'm doing, I usually start with a cup of coffee.

  33. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  34. A: How much do you charge for a mix? That depends on the size of the session and length of the song. The less tracks and the shorter the song, the less it costs.

  35. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  36. A: Do you have any reference mixes you want the track to sound like? Are you "married" to any previous mixes of the song?

  37. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  38. A: In no specific order : Hip Hop, Rock, Metal, Pop, R&B, EDM, Indie

  39. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  40. A: The fulfillment and satisfaction I get from hearing something I've worked on come to life, and when the client is as happy as can be about a project.
