Filippo Rambelli 11|27 Studio on SoundBetter

I can make your tracks slam hard without slamming you wallet. Best bang for the buck on Soundbetter.

My name is Filippo Rambelli, I am a musician and audio engineer , focusing primarily on metal music which i have been listening for more than 25 years. The main focus of my work is mixing and mastering and i use top notch hardware and software to make your music sounds the best possible. I can achieve maximum impact and clarity while preserving dynamics or i can reach maximum aggression with a wall of sound depending on your vision.

I've been playing guitars and drums for over 20 years, which makes me able to program realistic drums, using the best software available. I'm available also for programming realistic bass lines, which is becoming more and more the latest aesthetic for some genres.

I'm also offering some other services like:

Time and pitch editing for vocals or instrumental takes
Post production
Reamping

Interview with Filippo Rambelli 11|27 Studio

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Both! You can reach incredible results going 100% digial, and that's bascially what i do, but some analog gear has that 5% more that can make a whole difference.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: Best bang for the buck on Soundbetter!

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Audio is kind of a weird stuff because you're trying to make something that is very subjective, objective. So basically, i'm crafting the sound to be pleasant not only for my ears, but also for other's,

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Be faithful to your original idea but be also very open about technical suggestions that can impact positively on the final result!

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: Oh man! As a musician myself, i've been following Misha Mansoor since the soundclick days. I find him very close to my views for most things, and he is a musical genius and gear nerd like me.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Trust your ears over your eyes. Yeah it's a common quote but it does make o lot of sense. Also, treat your room!

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I prevalently work on heavy metal music. From prog to heavier stuff.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: I've begin approaching mixing and audio in general about 10 years ago, being amazed by the work of Joey Sturgis. I've listened to every single production of him. He has been such an inspiration for me. Nowadays i find that Adam Nolly Getgood is the perfect engineer because he is a master in blending technical nerdy knowledge without sacrificing the musicality as the final picture. He deserves all the fame he's been having.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: If i'm recording i'm ensuring that throughout the whole process, from the very first contact to the end of the work, everything is polite and accomodating to have the artist in the best mindset possible to deliver his/her best performance. If i'm mixing i want to be as detailed as possibile in asking what kind of sound the client wants, even before start mixing. Overall, i want to set the most clean and efficient way to talk to the customer and receive mix revisions.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: Power and clarity.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: I'm working mostly ITB to mantain lower fares. I'm very open minded about this. If i need some gear for a specific project , i'm gonna buy it.
