Josh was wonderful to work with. Professional, accommodating and patient. I'm a producer myself and would recommend him with confidence to anyone who is considering working with him.
Josh is a genius and one of the best guys i've ever worked with. His quality of work and professionalism is unmatched! I highly recommend Josh for any of you're Producing, Songwriting, & Production needs.
Josh not only is a phenomenal producer but he's a great songwriter and just fun to be around. I've written several songs with him and he's recorded and edited my vocals the best out of anyone i've worked with. You can tell he puts love and care into each project he's working on.
It's hard to convey how crazy talented Josh is. He's got an innate ear/gift of creating an "normal" song into something extraordinarily unique. He's dedicated, a hard worker, passionate, generously gifted & trustworthy. He produced my albums, to which labels were extremely impressed with the quality & production. You'll have no regrets hiring him.
I spent an entire year writing and recording a full length album with Josh in my off time from a full time job. We created something I was proud of and he got everything I was trying to do. Josh has a great ear for music in general no matter what the genre. From pre-production to final mixing, was a pleasure and had a blast.10/10
Josh is not only an incredibly talented producer but one of the most hardworking people I've ever worked with. He has dedicated countless hours towards helping me bring the vision of my EP to life and I feel so truly grateful to get to have him on board. Josh ROCKS & I could honestly not ask for a better experience!
I've worked with Josh for about 7 years. I've never met anyone who works harder at his craft. Every time I take a song to him, it turns out exponentially better than I imagined. Radio quality sound for a blue collar price. Highly recommend.
Josh is my "Go To" producer here in Nashville. He does fantastic work. He is a multi-instrumentalist who builds out beautiful tracks and is a creative producer who helps you capture your best performance as he guides you through the process of tracking vocals. Josh has produced my most favorite works to date :)
Josh is currently finishing up post on my new record, and it sounds great. Balanced mix, strong master, clean editing. Have also written with Josh more times than I can remember and always have a good time and end up with a solid product.
Josh has a tremendous gift in the area of musical production and creativity! He has produced many of my rough cuts, and I have never been disappointed!! He accurately captures my musical vision/direction on each song, works very quickly, and offers the most affordable rates anywhere! Josh receives my highest recommendaction!!
Josh is a great guy and versatile producer!
Interview with Sudds Studios
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I feel like I've always had a knack for good vocal production. It's certainly one of my favorite parts of a project.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I"d say because I grew up with my mother loving literally every genre she heard from classical to screamo, I think have a well rounded but unique sense of where I'd like to take a song. I'm a emotional guy and I want the music I produce to convey the appropriate emotions.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My first full album that I wrote and produced was with a songwriter name Abigail Grace. I learned so much about the process and I think you can tell a huge difference between her two EPs. She came to me with her songs and an acoustic guitar and allowed me to make them into something more.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I've got several projects in the works currently but I just had one that I produced and co-wrote geft released to European radio a couple of weeks ago. It's called "Where Do We Go" by Nick Howard. He's a phenomenal artist. Check it out!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like both. I currently work out of an apartment so I'm completely "in the box". But I've used analog gear in studios too. They are tools. As long as the finished product is good, none of that matters.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The project isn't done until they are happy.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to make music and new friends!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy and doesn't take hours of work to get a quality product.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of sound are you looking for? Do you have references? Whats your deadline? Do you want it shaken or stirred?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, backpack, and my wife.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was always experimenting with recording when I was in high school. I started recording my own bands then other bands started asking me to record them. So about 11 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean and punchy.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Google and youtube are your friends. I'm completely self-taught.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly pop, rock, singer-songwriter, CCM, and country.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Logic X, UA Apollo 8p and JBL Monitors. It's all I need.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce songs for songwriters and artists and some bands. I typically do all the music myself and eliminate the need for studio musicians.
