Dude is the real deal!! No hesitation on working with him. He delivers

Seriously... Josh is THE man! He's that VERY rare combo of pure talent and professionalism. I've worked with talented people who just can't follow directions or fail to make deadlines (but you put up with it bc of their talent)... I've also worked with the opposite. True professionals that hit every deadline and listen to instruction, but just don't have the raw genius. Josh is both genius and professional. Can't wait 'till our next project!

I'm always looking for someone that puts all they have into whatever they are doing. I'm grateful that I was led to Joshua. He is that kind of guy and probably one of the most talented people I have worked with thus far. He plays multiple instruments, can create different genres, is fast and just gets what I'm thinking, lol. It was a joy working on 4 different songs together. Thanks for all you did and I hope to work with you again.

Josh was wonderful to work with. Professional, accommodating and patient. I'm a producer myself and would recommend him with confidence to anyone who is considering working with him.

I've worked with Josh several times and every time has been an awesome experience. He pushes you to perform past what you knew you could do, encourages you on your performance, adds creative thought and input to your song, and is extremely professional. The quality of sound you get on each song is incredible. He's really attentive to every detail and makes sure that you get the best possible recording you can get. His best quality though goes beyond producing in his own studio, but in his encouragement and help when I try producing things on my own. He's always giving constructive criticism, h

I've worked with Josh on countless projects over the years and there's no other producer I'd rather work with. He's got a natural ear for melody and his work ethic is insane. He knows how to use his gear and it allows him to work very quickly. 10/10 would recommend.

  13. Review by Iryne

I was blessed to work with Sudds on the production of four songs from my upcoming album. He did a really fantastic job on all four songs. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a producer that delivers all the time.

Josh is a genius and one of the best guys i've ever worked with. His quality of work and professionalism is unmatched! I highly recommend Josh for any of you're Producing, Songwriting, & Production needs.

  15. Review by Alexander

Josh not only is a phenomenal producer but he's a great songwriter and just fun to be around. I've written several songs with him and he's recorded and edited my vocals the best out of anyone i've worked with. You can tell he puts love and care into each project he's working on.

  16. Review by Abigail G.

It's hard to convey how crazy talented Josh is. He's got an innate ear/gift of creating an "normal" song into something extraordinarily unique. He's dedicated, a hard worker, passionate, generously gifted & trustworthy. He produced my albums, to which labels were extremely impressed with the quality & production. You'll have no regrets hiring him.

  17. Review by The Company The Comfort

I spent an entire year writing and recording a full length album with Josh in my off time from a full time job. We created something I was proud of and he got everything I was trying to do. Josh has a great ear for music in general no matter what the genre. From pre-production to final mixing, was a pleasure and had a blast.10/10

  18. Review by Alex Stern

Josh is not only an incredibly talented producer but one of the most hardworking people I've ever worked with. He has dedicated countless hours towards helping me bring the vision of my EP to life and I feel so truly grateful to get to have him on board. Josh ROCKS & I could honestly not ask for a better experience!

  19. Review by Eric Mulder

I've worked with Josh for about 7 years. I've never met anyone who works harder at his craft. Every time I take a song to him, it turns out exponentially better than I imagined. Radio quality sound for a blue collar price. Highly recommend.

Josh is my "Go To" producer here in Nashville. He does fantastic work. He is a multi-instrumentalist who builds out beautiful tracks and is a creative producer who helps you capture your best performance as he guides you through the process of tracking vocals. Josh has produced my most favorite works to date :)

Josh is currently finishing up post on my new record, and it sounds great. Balanced mix, strong master, clean editing. Have also written with Josh more times than I can remember and always have a good time and end up with a solid product.

Interview with Sudds Studios

  1. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  2. A: That it's easy and doesn't take hours of work to get a quality product.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I get to make music and new friends!

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: The project isn't done until they are happy.

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: I produce songs for songwriters and artists and some bands. I typically do all the music myself and eliminate the need for studio musicians.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I use Logic X, UA Apollo 8p and JBL Monitors. It's all I need.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Mostly pop, rock, singer-songwriter, CCM, and country.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Google and youtube are your friends. I'm completely self-taught.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: Clean and punchy.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: I was always experimenting with recording when I was in high school. I started recording my own bands then other bands started asking me to record them. So about 11 years.

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: What kind of sound are you looking for? Do you have references? Whats your deadline? Do you want it shaken or stirred?

  21. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  22. A: I like both. I currently work out of an apartment so I'm completely "in the box". But I've used analog gear in studios too. They are tools. As long as the finished product is good, none of that matters.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Guitar, backpack w/laptop/solar power charger??, and my wife.

  25. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  26. A: I've got several projects in the works currently but I just recently had a song go #1 on Radio Disney and another hit 40 on European charts.

  27. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  28. A: My first full album that I wrote and produced was with a songwriter name Abigail Grace. I learned so much about the process and I think you can tell a huge difference between her two EPs. She came to me with her songs and an acoustic guitar and allowed me to make them into something more. I believe her project is what threw me into being the type of producer/songwriter and mixer I am today!

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I"d say because I grew up with my mother loving literally every genre she heard from classical to screamo, I think have a well rounded but unique sense of where I'd like to take a song. I'm a emotional guy and I want the music I produce to convey the appropriate emotions.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: I feel like I've always had a knack for good vocal production. It's certainly one of my favorite parts of a project.

  33. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  34. A: Listen to their examples. You should love what they do before talking to them. It makes the process so much easier on both ends. A producer/mixer/mastering engineers sound won't change for your project no matter how many revisions.
