Peter Glavanov on SoundBetter

I offer services such as creating custom royalty-free guitar sample loops and re-amping. I'm a pro musician operating from my home recording studio, equipped with high-quality boutique gear and boasting 30+ years of experience across various music genres. I can track your song using both electric and acoustic sets.

I enjoy arranging, recording, creating guitar sample loops, and reamping guitar tracks across various styles, from classic rock to heavy metal and progressive. I'm adaptable to specific instructions or none at all. Typically, we'll discuss the song's direction and guitar concepts to ensure optimal project results.

Equipped with a diverse range of guitars, amps, racks, and pedal effects, I prefer recording with valve amps and real cabinets & microphones. Utilizing boutique analog gear allows me to provide high-quality re-amping. Just send me your DI (clean) recorded guitar track(s).

My setup includes an RME FF800 sound interface, Neve 1073LB, and Chandler Limited TG2 500 mic preamps. I use Cubase Pro 12 DAW on an HP Z640 Workstation.

Upon completion, I'll send you high-quality mastered .WAV files (24bit/48khz or as required), recorded in phase with Royer R121 & Shure SM57 (real mics), as separated tracks for you or your mixing engineer to maintain complete control.

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Peter Glavanov

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Good music, like a powerful speech, is best conveyed through a few meaningful sentences rather than a thousand unrelated words.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: I bring over 30 years of experience in studio and live performances across diverse musical genres, complemented by a producer’s ear and a willingness to accept constructive critique.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: I prefer to establish thorough communication with clients, beginning with gathering as many details as possible. While music sheets are welcome, I can easily arrange guitar tracks without them. For reamping, I require your edited, dry-recorded DI guitar tracks, along with descriptions and/or sound examples of the desired guitar sound. Once I identify the suitable guitar sound, I'll reamp a short section of your guitar track and send it to you for approval. Once you are satisfied with the guitar sound, I initiate the entire process.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: I record my guitars through real tube amps and mic’d guitar cabinets. I own a bunch of them-all boutiques and a few of those are vintage. Amps include:(1975) Marshall JMP 1987 mk2, (1984) Marshall JCM800 super lead 1959, Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555x (1962) Fender Tremolux, Friedman BE100 deluxe, Twin Sister, Small Box 50, Brunetti Mercury 100, Mesa Boogie mkV, Triaxis and more. Cabs include Marshall 1960B, Bogner 212 OS, Brunetti 4x12 B, and more. Guitars include; Fender CS deluxe Strat, PRS 24 custom, Suhr Custom Standard, Gibson LP Deluxe, and more. I mic up the cab with Shure SM57 and/or Telefunken/Sennheiser MD421-5, Sennheiser E-609 plus a Royer R121 or Superlux R102 mkll (ribbon mics) and record guitars via Neve 1073 LB & Chandler Limited TG2 500 mic preamps plugged into RME Fireface 800 sound interface and HP Z640 Workstation. For each el guitar track, I use 2 close mics placed in front of the speaker(s), recorded on two separate channels for richer sound plus another (third) DI recorded track if needed. I work with Cubase Pro DAW and provide high quality dry or processed .WAV files 24/48K. My studio monitors are Genelec 1029A. For the recording of acoustic guitars (I own Taylor 710 CE and Alvarez Yairy JY84-12), I use Rode NTK tube condenser mic and Radial J48 for the DI recording. I do re-amping via Radial X-AMP STUDIO REAMPER

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I was born into a family of professional musicians, and my musical journey began with playing the piano from my earliest steps. Later, I graduated from music school with a focus on the clarinet. I completed my education at the Bulgarian National Music Academy and have been a full-time musician since 1994. Over the past 30 years, I've played the guitar, accumulating more than 3300 gigs and participating in numerous studio sessions across Europe and the USA.

  11. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  12. A: I take pride in my guitar solo album, as well as my latest singles produced and released in 2021-22. You can find them on Spotify under the artist name Peter Glavanov, with titles including "Run Away," "When the Dolphins Cry",“Colibri” and "4....3...2..one."

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: Composing, arranging-recording and re-amping electric & acoustic guitar tracks. Royalty free guitar sample loop tracking up to 15sec (aprox. 8 bars) per a loop.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: My signature guitar handcrafted by KDbasses model Silvia ‘Pepecaster II,’ my trusty 1975 made Marshall JMP 50 mkII with 1960B cab, a wah pedal, and my fav Analog Man KoT although I will need a powerful electrical generator :-)

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: My original music, Rock, Pop, R&B, Acoustic, Covers
