Working with Mike was absolutely more than I could have hoped for. His attention to detail and speedy turn around times for edits was impeccable. I was able to get 5 songs mastered, mixed and clean versions all in 3 days! Remarkable job done!

Not only was he helpful with music he also offered input and creative vision when I was stuck in between deciding on the best tracks and offering up ideas that added to my overall concept. I will definitely be working with Mike again in the future!

Mike is always cool to work with. He knows what he’s doing, especially with hip hop which is what I do. Each time I’ve used him he’s came back with clean mixes.

  2. A: I'm most proud of my most recent album. I recorded, mixed, and mastered it on my own and have heard nothing but great things about the sound quality of this particular body of work. It's titled 'Still Dreaming' by Mike Xavier, be sure to check it out!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm currently working on a new album of my own amongst a few other projects for clients.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital provides a clean signal and is more affordable. It'll give you excellent results when dealing with someone who knows how to work it and apply the right plugins that can also reproduce the analog sound.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I'll try your mix as if it were my own that I'm going to release to my own fans. I promise to make sure you're completely satisfied with the mix, I know that's how I'd want it to be if I were paying.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: The excitement my clients get when they hear a finished mix that they're excited to release.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: The biggest misconception is that you can take a low-quality vocal recording and make it sound as good vocals coming out of a million-dollar studio. It all starts with getting a good quality vocal recording to work with.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: The main thing I need is a quality vocal recording, which is easy to come by nowadays with the low cost of home studio gear. I also ask if they have reference tracks or songs that they like the mix of.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Hire someone familiar with the kind of music you're looking to have worked on.

  20. A: I've been mixing and mastering music for over ten years now. I

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: I like clean mixes where everything is as good as it can be. So, for example, if there is a certain vocal mix where I can remove the artist's breath and it sounds cleaner, I'll take the extra time to do that.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I'd work with J. Cole because I believe we'd create something incredible that would never get old for our fans.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Have something change in your song every eight bars even if it's subtle.

  28. A: Hip-Hop

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: My ear for a great mix.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: When I work on a record, I bring a strong desire to make it the best possible mix it can be. I'm reletless when it comes to making sure there is nothing left to be adjusted when I provide the final mix. I always treat work I do for my clients as if it were my own song I'm going to release into the world.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: I like to approach a new mix by first listening to the record a few times and pinpointing any standout points that I want to tackle first. I do a lot of mix referencing, so if possible, I like to get a song or two from the client of a mix that they want for me to aim for.
