Interview with Profile User 265406
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to the instrumental track, record the melody, write lyrics to the topline melody I come up with, and then record the song in my DAW.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jazmine Sullivan, Tori Kelly, JoJo, Chloe x Halle, Ella Mai, Kehlani, Ro James
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Write toplines, and recording vocal melodies.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy. In some sense it is, but it takes a lot of time to create a full piece of work.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be upfront with the feel of the song as well as how much you are willing to pay. I am not set in stone for writing costs, so come by honestly and ask!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am a healthcare professional. Been doing this for 7 years now! As far as singing? Since I was able to speak, and have been songwriting nonstop for 5+ years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Charismatic, soulful, easy on the ears.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: SO MANY. Top of my mind though is Chloe x Halle. I love their style and production.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly R&B music. I do write some soft rock, EDM, and rap songs as well.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Apart from topline writing, singing is my strongest skill.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Honesty, melodic vocal runs, harmonies, and character.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: AKG P220 Condenser Microphone w/ Pop Filter, Focusrite Audio interface, AKAI Midi Controller, Sterling microphone shield
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am always writing to beats I find on the internet. So I'm currently working on many songs.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I can promise to remain genuine and reliable.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be too much of a perfectionist. I know, and you know, that you've sat in the studio for a solid 9 hours doing the same thing over and over again. It's tiresome!
