Spent the better part of a decade honing my craft in Nashville working on countless Indie projects, rock, rap/hip hop, and big band/symphony orchestra, touring with bands etc. Currently residing in Alabama with a studio full of great gear. After spending a decade in Nashville working as a freelance audio engineer, live sound, studio, I moved to Alabama and opened up my own professional level studio to work on projects without the limitations.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I produced an ep for a drummer that showed up and said he'd wanted to sing. He turned out to be an amazingly talented songwriter and visionary and very close friend.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I have multiple productions happening in the studio; Old Gospel, New Orleans Jazz, Classic Rock, Blues and a heavy rock

  8. A: I love analog. Its not 100% possible in my studio so really I'd say both.

  10. A: You won't find someone that will work harder to make your vision come to life

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I've been the guy with a limited budget trying to make it work, and having my career held up waiting to make an album. I'd love to work on your project. Message me!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: An acoustic, an SM7 and small PT rig.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: It started playing guitar in youth group band at church almost thirty years ago and evolved from recording my band on a Korg Mulitrack in an apartment bedroom to moving to Nashville, making friends and going to school to learn audio engineering. After a good many years, branching out on my own in Alabama.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Projects I produce tend to have a live and organic feel.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Angie Aparo. He is one of the most interesting and inspiring people I've had the pleasure of meeting.

  30. A: Start at the source.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I like organic music. All kinds.

  34. A: Ability to listen

  36. A: Years of experience playing in bands, writing high energy crowd moving songs... I've been called the ToneDaddy

  38. A: Very laid back.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: In the new studio we have a 16x35 live room setup with drums, piano and organ as well as a 12x8 vocal booth/amp.closet filled with classic and boutique amps. Control room is 12x14 with Lynx Converters, SSL Preamps/EQ channel strips, Fusion, Heritage Audio 1073 style channel strips, 1176 and LA2A style compressors.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I am extremely inspired by mixing engineers that work outside the box of what the industry is doing. I'm inspired by supremely talented musicians and artists that show up ready to create a masterpiece.
