Producer & Mix Engineer
Hi! I'm a freelance Mix Engineer & Music Producer form Holland. I studied Audio Engineering for 4 years in Rotterdam and "Music Production & Composition" at the HKU in Hilversum. I am fluent in English and Dutch, and play drums, (bass) guitar and keys, where drums is my main instrument for over 12 years.
I really like working on Pop productions for the simple reason that the pop genre can have an enormous range of possibilities.
I own a very basic homestudio which has just enough for rough mixes and all pre production.
I also do a lot of my own work in Studio DR Groove in Waddinxveen, because I simply like the place both gear wise and atmospherically.
Send me a note through the contact button above.

Interview with Karim Bizid | KB Music
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never hold on to what is usual. Nothing is in music production in my opinion. If a snare drum filled with water makes the exact sound you're looking for... why should you not do it??
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop music. To be honest I am not sure why. I think this is just what comes along very often.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is Music Production. I like to have the overview on a production and when a demo is playing I automatically hear al the other parts, that haven't been recorded yet.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The thing I can bring for sure is dedication. I won't let anything fly until I am 100 percent sure it is the best I can do. Musically I think I can bring a certain amount of life into music. I just don't like it when something is really flat and nothing happens.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depends on what I am doing. Mainly I like to take time for things and try as many possibilities until I feel something really works.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I don't really have 1 setup. I work in multiple places and each place (or even area within a studio) has its own function for me. I don't like to get lost in loads of outboard and plugins. I think beauty comes from within (the source) and cannot be created. Typically I work in Cubase or ProTools and for recordings I own a D&R 4000 (dutch build Neve style console) which is placed in studio DR Groove were I do most of my recordings.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Phil Collins inspired me when I was really young. I find it amazing how he creates a certain feeling within a composition.. just like movie scoring, but then the end product is just a 4 chords pop song. Really impressive. Also Sting is a great source of inspiration because he has done composition in almost every genre, but you can always hear you're listening to Sting.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I generally do mix jobs for pop and acoustic productions, develop ideas of my own and others into complete tracks and record drums in multiple genres for everyone in need of drums.
