S. Tucker on SoundBetter

Producer and Song-Writer based in LA, let's make some creative and inspired music!

I have 8 years experience professionally recording and producing music. My strength is working closely with an artist to write compelling songs and develop a cohesive sound and identity. My work and original songs, released indepently, have gained over 800 million views on YouTube and 5 million streams on Spotify. I have taken several artist projects from the beginning stages to full-time touring, serving as music director for live shows as well as record producer.

I specialize in styles that range from Indie Pop, Electronic, Alternative Rn’B, and Indian Pop / World Music. My background is in Jazz, Western Classical Music, and Indian Classical Music, so those influences often inform my productions and compositions.

I work from my private studio, so all studio time and equipment access is included in the pricing. I have access to many amazing instrumentalists and songwriters local to LA, let me know if you are looking for anything in particular and it can probably be sourced.

I'm taking this opportunity to develop my production portfolio and work with new Artists. Let me know what you are looking for, and I look forward to collaborating on your project soon!

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Shankar is an outstanding producer, he sent me an incredible sounding track and I was super inspired. I wrote a top line and vocal for his track and it was a great process. He's a wonderful communicator and the music is on point. Definitely would collaborate with Shankar again. Ace!!

Interview with S. Tucker

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Keep your session clean and organized by using groups / submixes for all instrument groups, which will also let you quickly and conveniently bounce stems. Color code all clips by instrument groups.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: I currently produce several Artist projects, the genres of which are Synth-pop and Alternative / Electronic Rn'b.

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: I try to focus on clarity, simplicity, and atmosphere. This usually translates to determining the best song structure, finding the essential components of the music and making sure they come through, and finally building a sonic world that the listener can get absorbed in.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: I like to begin by understanding the Artist's vision for a song. What are the influences and references for the song, and and what are they hoping to achieve for the final product? From there, we can talk about the music, starting with the form and song structure.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I work from a private studio, using a combination of analog outboard gear and in-the box mixing. My vocal recording chain is either Neumann TLM 103 through Neve 1073 Preamp, 1176 Compressor and/or LA2A compressor, into a UA Apollo 8 interface. Mixes / Masters are usually run through iZotope Ozone and an analog SSL G Compressor.
