Lake South on SoundBetter

I look for the essence of the song and add or subtract as needed. I write, record, arrange, and produce for Lake South (electro-pop, indie pop), Wellington Sea Shanty Society and a bunch of other acts.

I've been making records and doing sound since 2000.

I can take an idea and add everything needed to create something beautiful.

Production: I work with synths and electronic beats. (Lake South, Urbantramper)
Mixing: Happy to mix acoustic tracks. (Wellington Sea Shanty Society)
Sound: I've done sound editing/design for a number of web series.

I've had tracks on official Spotify playlists such as: Indie pop, Boho & chill, Creativity boost.

Another great experience and result working with Lake South. Captured the intended feel of the tune while adding his own flavour and creativity.

This is the third tune Lake has produced for me. He has done a great job on all three. Lake has a way of injecting his own flair into the song while keeping in with the intended vibe. He has raised my tracks to another level. Highly recommend.

I'm so happy with Lake's work! From basic voice and guitar demos Lake worked with me to create beautiful multi-layered, radio-ready tracks that sparkle. He is an excellent communicator, a fun collaborator to work with and he knew just what my music needed to bring it to the next level. He is a pro, so driven and detail orientated, super creative and his production skills are incredible. I would highly reccomend working with Lake.

Lake boasts good gear, great communication skills and fast turnarounds. This is the second single I've worked with him on and his in depth knowledge of audio engineering, mixing and so on is top notch.

(For clarity the song is called 'A Steely Dan Covers Band' and isn't a cover of a Steely Dan tune! Realise that's a little confusing. If you're reading this after July 29 it'll be out and you can give it a listen wherever you listen to music haha.)

Had a fantastic experience using Lake for this project. Lake very quickly understood what I was trying to achieve and not only added value to the tune by providing clarity and depth to the mix but also improved the song with a couple of creative edits. Good communication throughout the process which is key. Highly recommend Lake.

It was a pleasure to work with Lake. He took a mix that I was very attached to and improved it 10 fold. He was also very considerate, I never felt like I was being a pain by asking or suggesting things. A+ would recommend!

He's also a great songwriter so for my project which is very song-focused, he quickly grasped what I was trying to achieve.

Added benefit of being able to chat mixes i roto i te reo Māori, he pūkenga anō tērā, he pārekareka ki ahau.
