Before devoting his work full-time to Displaced Media, Marcus served in the United States Army and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Degree in Communication.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee but now residing in Chiba, Japan he speaks both Japanese and English.

As an accomplished band drummer, vocalist, and intramural MA fighter Marcus enjoys devoting his fee time reaching out to kids as well as adults, speaking to them about ways to remain focus and follow their dreams.

The review below was referring to a specific song, can't figure out how ot edit it, haha. L-spade is a fantastic producer who continues to impress me with his music. I personally love the way his music is balanced throughout the track, he knows how to keep the beat fresh, keep the right sounds minimal or more complex to compliment the sound on the whole and mixes to keep the right sounds in the foreground and background where they belong. Underrated artist who deserves more attention, highly recommend this guy.

Very good production, the tension throughout the song is balanced well and the samples used sound quite good. The fade in/out was done tastefully and matches the level of production skill that L-Spade continues to demonstrate. The drums were also arranged with imo the right level variation to sound good with the track. My only criticism is that it needs more chords, those string give the opportunity for voice leading chords to sound very good behind the track, just need more of them.

When it comes to styles of rap beats, I might not like one particular style while someone else loves it. Even when I'm not a fan of that style I can't deny the mixing and mastering and all round production is great. This happens because he truly does all styles. Me, I am very particular about what styles I like. Him, he does them all.

I'm a Hip Hop head and usually listen to only that. I'm also a rapper who gets his beats from and production done by DJ L-Spade because it's the best bang for my buck. That ha been proven everytime I release music. Now I'm strictly hip hop but L-Spade does produces all music Period. Proof is in the pudding. From Rap to RnB, EDM to Dubstep, Pop to even acoustic, I've seen him record live instruments before. Since I met him about 5 years ago he was already producing for artists here.
