As an indie pop producer, I work with folks who are looking to transform their songs and demos into fully realized, polished productions. Whether you have an exact vision for the song, or need guidance from someone with an experienced and objective ear, I always will want what's best for the song and won't slip up in the execution.
Though I specialize in indie pop and sync music for ads/tv/film, I have a wide ranging network of live instrumentalists who allow me to work within just about any genre. My role is to make sure we discover a song's full potential.
Additionally and somewhat related, I also work as a session vocalist -- my voice is often compared to Michael Bublé and I'd love to offer my warm, smooth baritone vocals for your song. Message me to hear more samples of my vocals.

One song we worked on together was very personal as it dealt with the loss of my mother. David handled the song with such great care and even composed and played the piano arrangement for the track which added to the deep sentiment. David and I are currently working on our seventh track together, and there's a reason I'm sure it won't be our last. He is an extremely skilled, patient, down-to-earth dude whose open-mindedness in the studio makes for really smooth song-making. He's very transparent about where his strengths lie, and if he can't get a piece of the job done you better believe he knows someone who can. Cannot recommend him highly enough!
David did a recording for me and I was blown away by his professionalism, time frame in getting it done and overall production quality! A week after getting the song back we got a rep deal on it and I fully believe that David's production was the "special sauce." I've had the pleasure of working on several projects with David now as well as co-writing with him and he is SUCH an incredible producer/writer/mixer/vocalist/musician! I've had a song born from a scratchy voice memo and just my guitar and he's sent back production that completely elevated the song and brought it to life! Interview with David Bashford
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been producing music for over ten years, and have been working professionally out of my home studio for the past 6 years.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Instead of layering as many sounds as possible, make sure each element is doing the most it can for the track -- I often find that less is more!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie pop, soft pop, sync music, pop rock.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I take a demo or scratch track of a song that you've written, and apply fresh instrumentation and sound design to turn it into a fully realized production.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When producing a song, I like to gather as much information as possible from you to figure out the goals for a song to make sure we're on the same page. Then, using either a scratch track or rough demo, I create a ~1min production sample, and once I confirm the song is going in the right direction, I'll flesh out the rest of the production until you are satisfied.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an acoustically treated home studio, and work off of an iMac. I use Logic Pro X as my DAW, and have two Yamaha HS7 monitors. I record with a Neumann TLM 103 microphone, using an Apogee Duet interface.
