Jess Fenton - Mix Engineer
Producer & Mix Engineer
I'm a Music Producer and Mix Engineer from Harlem, NYC, but recently landed in the East Bay (just outside of San Francisco). I particularly love working one-on-one with artists/bands for the entire song cycle - from producing the song, to mixing it and having it mastered. With this method you are present and collaborative throughout each phase.
As a music producer, I work with artists to turn their demos into fully-developed songs. This involves creative sound design and a lot of experimentation. As a multi-instrumentalist, I help choose the right instruments, arrangement and sonic textures to bring the artist's vision to life.
As an Audio Engineer, I coordinate, set-up and engineer digital and live instruments for solo artists and bands across all genres. The recording process involves applying microphone techniques to live instruments and vocalists, MIDI sequencing, & drum programming all with the same goal - to capture the best sound.
As a Mix Engineer, I create space and bring out the best qualities for each recorded instrument per track. Songs leave my studio balanced, leveled, cohesive and always at the final approval of the artist.
I do all of my music work in ProTools and operate out of my personal recording studio in the East Bay, just outside of San Francisco. Happy to work in-person OR remote!
