Amar's Music on SoundBetter

Have your dream guitar tracks come true! Whether it's blues, jazz, fusion, rock or metal, your vision is important to me. Let's work together on your next song!

My name is Amar. I am a guitarist from Southern California, I have a B.A. in music (guitar performance) from the University of California Riverside. I have been playing guitar for most of my life. I have studied many genres of playing, both formally and independently, including blues, bluegrass, jazz, rock, metal, fusion, mariachi, acoustic, and more. I have also studied formally, and more so independently, a great deal of music theory and its application to the guitar. In addition I have studied musical analysis and composition. All skills that I believe to be vital for working as a session musician.

I always give all my work 100% and will never take on a project that I am not confident I can deliver at a high standard. I work closely with you to determine all the details of your project. Everything is up for discussion, from the harmony, melody, and technique, to the feel, emotion, and phrasing. And not to forget that guitar tone. All the details are important to me.

Whether it is a pre-composed part you need or if you need assistance in writing the music, I am confident I can deliver something you will be completely satisfied with.

I always offer the DI tracks for all guitars as well as 2 to 5 processed tones for you to work with.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. And don't forget to check me out on Instagram and YouTube.

Interview with Amar's Music

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am proud of all the my complete projects. One in particular, that I am proud of is a metal mashup I arranged for the music in CW's TV series "The Flash". I was quite proud of how the orchestral soundtracks translated into the epic metal genre.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am working on a metal project. It's going to be something different. It has been done before but not explored nearly as much as it could have been. That's all I will say right now but stay tuned on my Instagram and YouTube to not miss out when it is released. I'm hoping it'll be something I can work on full time one day.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I would personally have to go with digital. With the level of detail that it has reached today, it is impossible for the majority of people to differeniate between digital and analog purely based on sound. The feel of many of these units are starting to catch up as well to their analog counterparts. All though they may not be 100% there, digital today is able to deliver the same high quality recordings that analog gear is able to. And not to forget that more and more musicians today are actually starting to prefer the sound and tones from many of these digital units.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love being able to play and create music. Especially with other musicians. I love when a client is excited about the result of my work on their project. It really feels great being able to bring that magic to a client's tracks, song, or music.

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: I always like to know exactly what my client is looking to portray in the music. The emotion. The feel. The message. I also ask about the tone they are looking for because that usually provides a good insight as to what is playing out in their minds.

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: I promise to put 100% into every project and to treat it as my own. I would never deliver anything mediocre or anything that I myself wouldn't publish under my own name. I would never take on a job I am not 100% confident I can deliver at a high standard.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: Maintaining strong melodic lines regardless of the genre and style. Being able to tell a story with the music whether it's a slow pieces or a faster shred solo. The story always comes first!

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: The most common type of work I have done for my clients is lead work. Adding harmonies as well as solos to songs in various styles.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: To be prepared. If you are planning on giving a sample track for the provider to work with, make sure the track has the same feel that you are looking to portray. One particular important aspect is the dynamics. Don't send a track with the wrong dynamics. That will completely change how a musician writes for your music.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Fender strat through a fender amp. That's all I need.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: In regards to music for others, it is usually blues, blues-rock, rock, and some shred metal. As for myself, I am currently focusing on a progressive metal project.
