This guy is great at what he does straight up. Like even the things I gave feedback on he was able to adjust and make it even better than I even thought of in the way I was describing it. Would definitely recommend him to and would work with him again.

Sean is a dope guitarist. It was cool to work with him on different ideas.

Interview with SØ

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: This upcoming album I'm working on is far and away the best thing I've ever done musically. Wrote, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered every piece of every song and it's sounding phenomenal and differentiated from what is currently released in today's day and age.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Executive producing 1 album Executive producing 1 EP Always working on new loops and full instrumentals

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not at this time.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, because analog is too expensive, and there are so many digital analog sims now. Digital Audio technology has come a really long way in a short period of time.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to deliver your vision of the sound and finished master that you sought after. I will always respond to feedback and constructive criticism professionally, and will not stop until you are truly satisfied.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love being able to create something from scratch, that physically and mentally moves people when they listen to the finished product.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Turn-around time and my opinions on vocals.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: It's easy. I've been at it for some time now, and invested alot of time to get to a place where I've really found my own productions style that stands out from others work. It's easy to imitate big producers in the game right now, but it takes a long time to really find your own sound.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What tempo, vocal direction, and plans for the song do you have? What key typically fits your voice best?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I work constructively and collaboratively. I'm open to any feedback, and looking to serve my clients to the best of my ability. The more flushed out your ideas and direction are, the faster the process will go.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Acoustic Guitar, shaker, condenser microphone, interface, and Macbook.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been doing music semi-professionally as a side gig for a few years now. I started producing in Logic Pro X back in early 2015.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Wavy, live-sounding, and dynamic.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would really like to work with Meek Mill or Future. I'm from Philadelphia and so having Meek select one of my productions would be dope. Future really brought the trap genre to a new level, so I've always loved his work.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Don't overthink things, and less is usually more!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I'm either working on Alt Rock sounding stuff or Trap/Guitar vibes.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Guitar recording and sound design.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Energy and a raw/live feel.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I'll start with a drum loop or guitar loop, adjusting volumes and doing preliminary mixing steps along the way. I'll land on one or two really good sections based on what the song needs, then apply my mastering chain. From there, I'll arrange the song and reference the bounces in various speaker systems.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a home studio setup with treated walls, a Macbook Pro, an Apollo Twin interface, Rokit 5 monitors, Audio Technica Headphones, and various guitars. I typically reference my mixes and masters on my Sonos system, as well as my Car speakers and Airpods.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metro Boomin, Dr. Dre, Kenny Beats, illMind

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Either recording/producing guitar and bass loops, or producing full instrumentals.
