I would love to help take your song or project to the next level whether it be mixing, mastering, editing or adding some decorations to your existing production. My goal is 100% satisfaction for you.
I have been mixing, mastering, and producing for over 20 years. Growing up in Tallahassee, FL where I attended Florida State University for Media Production, I was a veteran of the music scene producing and engineering local bands for many years. From there I ended up working at Studio A in Juneau, Alaska and Blue Planet Sound in Honolulu, Hawaii where I have been living since 2012. Some of the more notable artists I have worked with are Peter Rowan (HI), Drew Henmi (HI), Jabez Theodore (HI), Sammy Burrous (AK), The Wool Pullers (AK), Slow Gun Runner (AK), King Cotton (FL), Ego Tree (FL), Souther Mystic Hustlers (FL), Pazuzu (FL), Ona (FL), and many others.
For Mixing I use Pro Tools 2018 with Dangerous Music analog summing running through my handmade Roger Foote Precision Mastering Compressor with a built in Cinemag transformer for that smooth analog sound. I use only the best plugins from Universal Audio, Fabfilter, Sound Toys, Slate and many more.
Feel free to contact with me with any questions regarding your project. I look forward to working with you!

I feel lucky to have made a connection with David on this site. He was great to work with. He has lots of experience that he was able to integrate into my song. I trusted his suggestions and it paid off as I'm very happy with the end result. Thanks David!
David was Awesome! I went through a lot of mixers, and even paid for a few others, and David's mix blew them out of the water. Very Responsive! I'm starting my full EP with him now.
David was amazing to work with. He really invested himself in the project and made things work for me. Being an independent artist on a minimal budget and a truncated time table he was able to deliver far beyond expectations. I will use him again on my next project.
David is an excellent engineer, very understanding and will work with you to get your mix right.
David did a great job mixing and mastering the first song off my new album! he took some serious time to make sure everything is in place and was extremely polite and willing to adjust little details even weeks after he did the mix! this was all due to my busy touring schedule and i really appreciate that! AMAZING GUY!
David is so awesome to work with! He really helped my project come to fruition. David has great technical skills + resources; and, he has a kind, personable demeanor that's great to work with - super supportive and approachable. I can't wait to collab with him again.
David's expertise and efficiency in the studio helped make the most of my very low-budget, fast-paced recording session. After tracking, David put a lot of attention into sending me different mixes and working with my feedback, plus adding his own creative touch that I could have never imagined myself. Overall, David knows his stuff and he's also a great guy in general!
Interview with David W. Pichard
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I had the honor of working on Peter Rowan's last CD "My Aloha." I was the tracking engineer and got to mix 4 of the songs. It was so much fun working with this living legend, he is such a wealth of knowledge with the history of bluegrass and all things folk.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When delivering programmed drums always include the source midi file in addition to wave/aif sound files. It opens up so many doors to creating new textures and sounds that may be more appropriate to a song than what is captured in the sound files. With the midi file, I can try out different snare sounds, ride sounds, etc or at the least enhance overhead sounds which always seem to need some help coming from programmed drums.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I really love acoustic/organic instruments and sounds.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Relentless persistence. Giving whatever I'm working on 100% of my skill set and attention. My love and passion for music, all aspects, help drive me to learn something new every day in order to keep improving and getting better.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I have played bass and guitar in many different bands in the past and I also have completed a jazz guitar class from the Berklee online music school. I feel like these experiences help me better communicate with clients as we strive towards making the best decisions for what each song needs.
