PJ is an amazing talent. His taste for drum sounds is so refined that he can recognize songs just from the snare or 808 they use. This explains why some of the most successful producers in the industry come to him for drum packs. His musicality is crazy and he is great with both groove and melody. And, most importantly, he’s such a good guy to work with and makes the process something memorable every time. Can’t recommend PJ enough - work with him if you get the chance!
Super talented and versatile! Me and PJ have worked together on multiple occasions and he always delivers top quality productions that stand out. Definitely one of my favorite producers
Interview with pj pipe it up
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Heavy kicks and bass, hihats going crazy.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: What helped me is to not overthink the mixing, I feel like putting too many things and trying to make it sound professional is just going to take the life out of it. Let it be a little raw and just be you.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Trap and R&B.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Definetely hard drums. I always find a way to make it slap which to me is super important.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: If I'm not in the studio I use speakers at home called 'Trust', a small HP mouse and headphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mike Dean and Scott Storch.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do collaborations and productions but I've sold exclusive drums and drum loops for a long time before I used to have any placements.
