  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Recently produced a single called 'Keep On' for an amazing artist called FFSYTHO?! that featured UK soul legend Alice Russell with session contributions from Space Dimension Controller and Gentleman's Dub Club that received heavy support on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6music.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: The variety of great music I get to hear, usually long before anyone else!

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: What to you love and hate about your demo mix?

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Be as prepared as possible with your material before submitting as mistakes in bouncing such as clipping the end of a stem can be costly if a whole project has to be remixed/mastered.

  9. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  10. A: Mixing an EP for upcoming superstar UK rapper FFSYTHO?!

  11. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  12. A: Horses for courses. Definitely both as they each have unique advantages for certain tasks.

  14. A: I will go above and beyond to get your music to exceed your expectations and present it at it's highest potential.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That we are miracle workers (we're good but not THAT good).

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: Mac m1, PMC 8-2's, Logic, Prism Lyra, and a generator with fuel!

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: Over 20 years. Live sound, studio tea boy, assistant engineer, studio owner at the same time as developing my own skills as an artist and producer.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: Soulful, warm and punchy.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: Prince. Because... who wouldn't?!

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: A great mix and master comes from good songwriting and arrangement.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Predominantly Hip Hop/R'n'B and dance music but I have recorded, mixed and mastered everything from metal bands to jazz ensembles and string quartets so my ear knows no bounds.

  30. A: Hybrid digital and analogue setup. Mac m1 running Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper. Conversion, software and outboard from Prism Sound, Dangerous Music, Neve, Api, Maag, Weiss, Bettermaker, DMG, Fabfilter +++

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: Everyone!

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: Mastering takes most of my time these days but I still love mixing. I also design and build studios for clients as well as provide acoustic treatment consultancy.
