The Bluefield Music Design music production team The Bluefield Band specializes in networking independent great musicians together on a per project basis. Our expertise exists in both Pre and Post digital revolution as a former WB Recording Artist, keyboardist for Three Dog Night (playing to packed arenas nightly), and even playing the synthesizer in the Spielberg movie "Close Encounters" (communicating with the MotherShip)-

Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
Musical Director of The American Music Project funded by Herb Albert and conjured up by a great Humanitarian Don Drowty -that brought music into 70,000 schools and 21 million kids.

Analog or digital and why?
both -analog still sounds so much better -deeper - warmer because of the distortion of tape and digital because you can accomplish so many tasks so quickly

What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
1- no one knows everything and we know plenty and have a ton of experience to call from to give constructive direction advice -free frank feedback 2- no amount of great gear can make a lousy song great - so the song must be fundamentally sound

What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
too long and yet not long enough ...since I was 18 -mom bought a grand piano at 13 - found a greeeeaaat (Tony the Tiger) Teacher who taught me music theory and chords and the freedom to explore

R & B, pop jazz with a funky N'Orleans back beat -
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
Jennifer Hudson ...she can sing anything and make it soulful
Can you share one music production tip?
always always always be in record - put all ideas down and then put in the time to eliminate or at least stagger (mute) 90 %
What type of music do you usually work on?
melodic -good beat- great harmonic structure - soulfulness
What's your strongest skill?
keys and a sense of rhythm
What do you bring to a song?
MY years of comfort in the music stream that is always there to be guided

just turn it on play around and wait for THE MUSE TO SHOW UP and IT ALWAYS DOES
