Hi! I'm Riccardo Pinchi and i'm a bass and synth player.
I'm graduated in "Electroacoustic music & Sound Design" at the F.Morlacchi's Conservatory in Perugia,
I'm a full time bass player that's playing also keyboards and synth instruments, i've also a lot of experience as Freelancer in the area of session musicians and music production.
I can garantee high quality recordings processed through my DAW, Pro tools HD.
Currently my gear are made by a Soller&sivcak 5 strings bass ( high-end luthier's instrument) and an old Precision telecaster bass with flatwound strings, really good for some motown vibes. Then i own a moog sub phatty as hardware synth but i have a lot of high quality VSTi plugins too (like Serum).
I've worked with many customers both locally and online producing soundtracks for advertisments, Trailer, Short Films, indie Videogames and podcasts.
I'm a License Owner of Ableton live 10 suite and Pro tools, as well as a lot of high quality plugins such as the EastWest libraries, Soundtoys and Waves.
Thank you for choosing my services,
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Bass and Synth keyboard player
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: i worked as bass player on a Band called Neuromant. it was a pretty fun and satisfing experience that brought me to play also on large venues, like opening God Is An Astronaut at Kiev in Ucraina. Unfortunately the band isn't up anymore but certainly it was an experience to be proud of.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment i'm working as producer for an album of a french singer called 'Noella'. i'm making multiple instruments and among them also bass and keyboards parts.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm relatively new to SoundBetter so i haven't seen another artist to recommend to my clients right now.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Because because one complements the other.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Mainly that i do updates of the work during the workflow process, because this way the client knows that i'm working on his project, and he knows also what direction is taking the bass-line or the keyboard-line that i'm making.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: i like the fact that my playing is recognized as something iconic and something useful to the client.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most common question is if i provide wet and dry tracks of the bass-line or the keyboard-line, and the answer is Yes you will have one track with plugin on and another without plugins.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: There isn't a real misconception, maybe sometimes people thinks that this is a work where i teach how to play bass but this is a kind of things that can be asked for by people that don't work with music at all.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually i tell them what's the bpm of the song where i'm going to record, and if they want multiple versions of the same bassline but played with different techniques just to show them the different results.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you need a catchy line that would improve your song or something that gives movement and vibes to your own production, then this is the right service for you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1 bass, 1 laptop, 1 snacks, 1 midi keyboard, 1 solar panel (because i need electricity right?)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: i'm playing bass for almost ten years now, and piano/keyboards for 7 years. i started with some local bands and now i'm playing constantly with multiple groups and various situations; and while i was doing this experience of playing bass or keyboards for the bands, i started to attend the conservatory of my hometown. Now i have also a degree in "Electronic music and New Technologies" that allows me to work with an other Area of the music production.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: mine is an eclectic style, sometimes i tend to fuse different type of styles to create something original when it comes to build an instrument track. but always as long as it is functional to the song.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Anderson paak or Bruno Mars, because their productions are always so cool and never foregone.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Maybe it's a very simple one but if you use a complex DAW and if you do multiple jobs regarding music production and not only recordings of instruments, then i highly suggest to prepare different templates of your DAW's projects. This kind of thing saves a lot of time during the beginning part of a work even if you are doing something for yourself and not for an actual work.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually do these genres: Dance, R&B, HipHop, Electro - Pop, Disco, jazz, Funk, Acid Jazz, Jazz rock. But i'm open also to different genres, Sometimes i do also Metal and in particular Djent.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: In terms of musical skill even if I'm able to play my instruments with any techniques and with any music genre, probably what i'm proud of the most it's my own Sound.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to bring my own sound as well as my feels into the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: During the recordings of a bass or keyboard track, i do a few previews of how the track is coming out, and periodically i share the result with my client, when we have on the same final thought then i proceed to finalize the track and to deliver the official bassline or keyboardline.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It's a pretty simple studio setup but functional to my purpose. I have a macbook pro 2015 and i work with Pro Tools or Ableton live 10, it depends on the buyer request. My hardware are composed by: two monitors Dynaudio bm5 mkIII, RME babyface pro FS As my audio interface, a novation impulse 49 MIDI keyboard, a yamaha p-45 digital piano, an analog Moog Sub Phatty, BeyerDynamics DT 990PRO as headphones, and finally a room acoustically treated.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Michael League (snarky puppy), Quincy jones, Marcus Miller, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Anderson paak
