Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I'm currently working on becoming Premium Pro on Soundbetter and upping my game in the session singing world.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: Discover new songs, new styles, new talents from all over the world.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Be precise about what result you want to hear and let us handle how we want to achieve it.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: This is the bucket list question! I'd like to work with Hans Zimmer, I would give a lot to be the voice of the Gladiator or Dune soundtracks.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: I always remove the silences in my takes. It eases the process of mixing for the producers.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Mainly rock, pop or EDM songs, but I also work for advertisements. That's the cool thing with session singing, you are able to sing on so many different genres, it's really fun.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Harmonies. Major or minor thirds, fifths, sixths, you name it. I love singing my heart out on a song and then support the topline with some additional harmonies tracks which clearly enhance the melody.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I think I have a "not that common" voice which brings uniqueness to a song. I've been classically trained and I have graduated from conservatories in France and Luxembourg, so my voice brings passion, strength and emotion to a song.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I usually listen to the song and read the brief from the client several times. I try to identify the parts that may be tricky and then establish the structure of the song in Logic. Then, I directly record the whole song, part by part, until I am satisfied with the technique I have used and the sound of my voice. And then I re-record the whole song to get the most homogenous result, when everything is seamless. When the vocal session is done, I do some editing and sound treatment (EQ, comp...) and I deliver all the tracks.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I work in my home studio which has an acoustically treated room, in which I record all my sessions. My main microphone is a Neumann TLM 103, but I also have a Rode NT1A and a Shure Super 55 (that I use for concerts or for special takes that need a blend of 2 different mikes). I have several audio interfaces : Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 gen3, Avid Eleven Rack (which has an excellent vocal rig preset) and I record on Logic Pro X. My monitors are Adam A8X models.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: The scope of artists I take inspiration from is very wide. It goes from the classical singers like Luciano Pavarotti, Juan Diego Flores or Andrea Boccelli to rock singers like Myles Kennedy, Jon Bon Jovi or Chris Cornell, via music composers such as Hanz Zimmer, Danny Elfmann or even Beethoven...

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I primarily sing for my clients. I'm a session singer. I've been honoured to work for artists and producers from around the world, on songs from a variety of genres and even advertisements.
