Interview with Profile User 211800

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Digital - flexible for travelling and fast recall which allows for free revisions.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: Your music is of the utmost importance to me. You have worked hard on your songs and I promise to do right by them.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: The best thing about mixing online is that you get to hear music and meet people from all over the world, each with their own story to tell.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: 1. Where is your studio based? - I travel a lot, so at the moment there is no physical location. 2. How much do you charge for mixing? - It depends on the size of your project and what requirements you have.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: Allen Stone - he's a legend.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: Mixing live instrumentation.

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: I aim to get your song sounding as close as possible to your vision by bringing out the elements that make your song unique.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: I always insist on chatting about your project before we agree on working together. This way, I can ask the question to will give me a clear overview of your project's requirements. Moving forward, you will receive a proposal that outlines everything that we have agreed on, the final fee and the terms & conditions. In order for work to commence, the proposal needs to be signed and the agreed-upon deposit paid. Next, I will provide you with a link to your project folder where you will be able to upload your stems. This is where you'll also be able to listen to your mixes. Once uploaded, you can relax while I mix your songs. You will have an opportunity to send me revision notes after each mix until you are happy with the end result.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I have a very humble studio but effective setup. I use a MacBook Pro powered by an up-to-date Logic Pro X and industry-standard plug-ins (Waves, UAD, Slate etc.)

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: I focus mostly on mixing but have been asked to master some projects as well.
