Chris is the best in the business, I recommend her for any project, she is by far the most professional and most talented vocalist I have ever worked with.

A few days late dropping this review but if you've worked with Chris before then you already know it's a home run each and every time. We did 3 joints and although I usually supply the lyrics and rough idea, Chris adds a unique flavor to it and sends back the icing 😂. Def pay Chris more than what is quoted, you won't be disappointed and you'll help keep a talented artist in business. Blessings.

If you ever worked with Chris before then you already know she is platinum status and worth so much more than what she charges. I would suggest, that whatever price she quotes to you, add a lil something to show your appreciation. She just laced 6 tracks for me and I couldn't be more happier with the outcome.

Chris did an amazing job with coming up with lyrics and singing them for my Hip-Hop/Pop style track that I have been working on. She is really easy to work with and she knows what she is doing! I will defiantly use her again for future projects!

This talented woman took the song to a direction vocally i didnt expect but it turned out awesome she's one of the few that surprises me vocally and reminds me what she can do creatively.

Interview with Chris Hall

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I don't have one specific project but I do have songs that I have written for other artists that are some of my favorite songs and I feel some of my best work. I love to write for other singers as well.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am currently working on a small compilation of songs, entitled "For the Love"

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet, but I am continually building relationships and open to collaboration.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Hmmm, when it comes to music, I don't believe in "either or". I think there can be a happy balance between analog and digital. Technology is great but not when it takes from the emotion of a song. And analog is great too, but if there are too many other interfering noises on a track then it may cause the listener to be distracted from other elements of the music. Technology should enhance not strip away art. That's my take on it.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Honesty and professionalism. I like to be up front with clients so that they know exactly what to look forward to when working with me. I am thorough and I believe the listener is able to hear that in my music. I also believe that having a professional attitude will get you very far in the music business.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I get to create! At the end of the day, that's what's most satisfying and most liberating. Music is one of the most influential forces in the world and I'm blessed to be able to share that with others.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: So far, Ive been pretty lucky because producers send me music and simply ask me to come up with something. They hear my music and trust my artistry enough to give me free reign . I love those type of opportunities, but when I do get questions they may be for example " Can you write a song that would suit an artist like Alicia Keys?". Sometimes producers get very specific about what they want if they know that they are pitching the song to a record company for a specific artist.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I don't feel any misconceptions regarding my work. I try and be as honest and straight forward about my artistry as possible. I try to show as many sides of myself as possible so that the listeners understand that I'm not one dimensional.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What type of music are you trying to create? What feelings do you want the listener to feel? Do you have any specifics regarding what you would like the song to be about or what type of voice you hear on the track?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be as specific as possible when describing what you would like.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: ( in no specific order) a radio, bible, row boat ( can I do that? lol), a super warm blanket for night time, a picture of my family.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: For as long as I can remember I have been singing and dancing. Creatives often go through a slew of career options before settling on one. At one point I wanted to do fashion design, but music never left me. One day I realized that's what I wanted to make a living doing.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is classic with new age appeal. I love rnb and classic hip hop, but Im always listening to new music, so you can hear that in my sound.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with Pharrel. I love that he always has fresh ideas, ones that are outside of the box but still familiar enough to pull in pop listeners. His music transcends age and time and I think that's important as a musician. In addition to this, his ear for melody is crazy!

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: I usually work on pop, rnb, soul music, but I love when I get the chance to collaborate with producers who do dance music. I'm also a dancer, so I love music and makes me want to move.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: My strongest skill is my voice. I'm a singer first and I think that shows through my writing and performance.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: In terms of sound aesthetic, I love a strong melody, so I typically incorporate lush harmonies. I like to display dichotomies in my music, for instance strength and vulnerability.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: I begin by simply listening to the music and taking note of how it makes me feel. Then I proceed to develop a story around that feeling and decide what perspective I'd like to tell that story from. I typically hear a melody before writing the lyrics, so I lay that down then I proceed to write lyrics. Sometimes the words and music just come to me immediately ( I love it when that happens! )

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: Some of my influences production wise are The Neptunes, Timbaland, Stargate, Kanye West, Quincy Jones, and Stevie Wonder. My writing/musical style is influenced by singers with huge voices like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé... to name a few.

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: I write lyrics, vocal produce and record songs to music tracks that I receive from clients.
