William Hope on SoundBetter

I'm a hardworking mixing engineer and producer that treats every project as my own. I've been creating music most of my life and love music in every form, so I won't hesitate to include my own production on your song if I feel something is missing.

The services I provide at the moment:

Mixing:
To me it doesn't matter how good or bad your song is. I will always strive to do the best result and make your song sound as proffesional as possible, no matter what. If you want me to follow your vision 100% of how you want your song to be mixed, that's fine, but I find it way more enjoyble when I at least have some freedom, and therefor do a better mix in my opinion. I don't think it matters too much which genre your song belongs to, but I have most experience in the pop/electronic appartment. There will normally be a higher price for 50+ tracks. 3 revisions included.

Vocal tuning:
I only do them if I mix your song. I always tune vocals manually, so no auto-tune applied here (unless as effects). It costs 50$ extra.

Production:
This depends on so many things if I want to do it. Most likely, you have to be a singer I want to collaborate with.

Mastering:
I will do my best to make your end result sound as good as possible.

Top Line Writer (Vocal Melody):
I love writing vocal melody. However, I don't sing, so it will be written with a piano or another instrument.

Interview with William Hope

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm working on my third album.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will do my best, no matter what.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Act like a nice person. Most of the people on this page are highly underpaid relative to the hours of work they put in. I think most want you (the customer) to be as happy as possible with the work they deliver, so try to be clear if there's something you want different for your song, but also have an open mind that it might not end up exactly the way you expected it (unless it sounds bad ofc).

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: My computer, my piano, my soundcard, my speakers/headphones and my guitar.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: Every artist that have a desire to create something meaningful.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Make what you love, love what you make. Finish the work you start. It might end up terrible, but at least you gain the experience to finish something.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I mostly compose piano music, but I also make bigger productions too.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: Probably that I have done a little bit of everything. I know how to think as a producer, musician, recording engineer, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, composer, singer, lyricist etc.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: Experience, creativity and maybe most important; a second opinion. Sometimes there's a lot of work to be done, but other times it's knowing when something already sounds good the way it does.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: I'm not sure if I have any typical work process. I'm definitely a perfectionist though, so I like to do things "right" till I'm happy with the result.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: I mix in the box, which means (almost) all the work is done digital. I have tons of the best plugins and a huge library of sounds.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: There's so many. I like everything from the minimalistic to the complex, from the obscure to the "typical" hit songs. To name a few artists/bands: Òlafur Arnalds, Zedd, Illenium, Ludovico Einaudi, Iron Maiden, Hans Zimmer, Röyksopp, Of Monsters And Men, In Flames, The Killers.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Mixing, Mastering and Production.
