Furkan on SoundBetter

Hi my name is Furkan, I am specialized in Songwriting and Mixing. Check out our stuff on YouTube -> Taş Plak Yapım | Grand Rhapsody 1877

I offer optimization of lyrics and catchy melodies especially for chorus‘. I can help you arrange your Song in an optimal final product. Simplifying is the key to many hit songs.
This is also occurring to the Arrangement and sound design of a Song.

The first step for a perfect mixing is the choose of best sounding elements working together in an arrangement. The mixing of a track is most dependent on the quality of its raw materials!
I offer you the solutions for a solid foundation of your song, checking every detail from scratch and bring your song to its ideal shape. Regarding lyrics, arrangement, sound, to the very last step of mixing and mastering.

I am a songwriter originally from turkey, winning severa songwriting contests in Germany (English & german). Also finalist at the Subotica Songcontest 2009 (since 1970’s, which is the precursor to the Eurovision Songcontest)

Today, I am producing songs for our artists at our label based in Munich and composing film music with focus on sound design.

Contact me through the green button above and let's get to work.

Interview with Furkan

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: A mixing of song with three different produced versions, one is acoustic, the other Berlin style techno, the other chillout lounge. although the vocals are the same, the remixes sound most different, it is because of the different genres. The hardest thing in mixing and mastering these totally different genre remix' of the same song is to blend them together into one EP. To make them sound togetherand connected if you listen one after another, you will not go through a wormhole and land in a different dimension of sound. Bringing different genres together and let them sound harmonic in a shared concept.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: there are a lot of engineers on Soundbetter I came across different platforms like youtube, and found them here again. I can recommend every engineer who is truly interested in working with you and helping you honestly.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital it is future proof and frightening how close the digital versions of analog equipment come to the original analog ones. also the analog ones get old and used by time, not sounding as good as they did back in time... whilst the digital will sound even better with every update.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I will do your songs sounding better then mine :) there is a saying in turkish: a tailor can't fix it'#s own trousers hole. Meaning a good tailor will work for the customers interest first before chasing it's own interest and needs. That is what I can promise

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: The variety of people and cultures I met, and to learn something new about music and my profession every single day.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: Most of my clients think if its mastered it will sound better, but the truth is if something is not sounding good enough in the mix, mastering it won't fix it.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: If they can send me their most favorite songs and tell me their story about how they evolved as a musician until today, so I can understand who they are in a musical way and help find the right path of sound for the next steps.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Be curious about how much he focuses on your style and your song. Is he asking you questions to understand your music, or rather superficial things like how would you like your song to sound like (another artist) I think you should go for an engineer that wants to profile your sound and your identity and not just copy paste like work concerning the "sound like this"

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: my guitar, my oud, my UAD. my speakers and my bouncing wheeled chair for a healthy back :D

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I'm doing music since 27 years, started by playing instruments and singing, I was on stage for 20 years now and was in the finals for a song writing contest in Subotica, the pendant event to Eurovision songcontetst: OMLADINA. There I was the first competitor in finals representing TURKEY, since 1970's. After that I worked in a lot of good Studios in MUnich mainly, then I decided to study sound engineering and to build my own studio. Now I've been producing for 8 years professionally.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: Contemporary and new, something you did'nt heard before.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: Dua Lipa, besides that she is hot I really love the strong and unique timber in her voice and expressions.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: If something sounds good let it be good, do not turn on knobs just to have been done something as an engineer.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: I love cross genre productions, therefor I loce to produce future oriented new subgenres and the synergy of several, like Hip Hop & pop, Trill mixed with film scores, EDM and oriental classical music, the list goes on. :)

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Creativity. I believe that art in every way has a channel to express itself wether its by painting or making music or designing sounds. The expression is the process and creativity is the guide. I trained myself with utterly to build strong creative concepts helping me and the artists I'm working with to reach beyond their goals.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: Not only crystal clear sound design but also support in arrangement and song writing, since I am a Songwriter for 20 years now myself.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: Since I am prettty much influenced from the german culture I am working very accurate and with discipline

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: My studio set up is most up to date, concerning producing in the box only with high end plugins. I have a very good treated room, walls and additional sections were optimized with only one purpose. best possible sound and accuracy for music production , mixing and mastering. I got a Neumann - system KH310 and a pair of Adams, next to other sources like mono speakers for monitoring.

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: I love to explore and find out about mixing engineer gems who develop new approoaches and uncommon techniques, this helps me think and stay always out of the box.

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: Mostly it's producing and mixing / mastering
